CHAPTER 23 EMMY STARED AT me over the table, looking as shattered as I felt. The black eye I’d given her four days ago was fading, but dark circles caused by lack of sleep had taken its place. We’d begun training at five—a run followed by sparring with Alex—and if I’d repeatedly punched a wall for the last hour I’d have been in better shape. But at the end, he’d promised to lighten up for a few days and stick with cardio and weights to let us both heal before we went to Russia. And now we’d spent twelve hours straight in Windsor while the search for Tabby went on. I felt impotent as I listened to the buzz around me.
