Chapter Four

Alev walked along the boardwalk lined with tiny shops.  He was looking for a shop obviously owned by witches. He saw many different types of shops catering to the needs of the tourists, but if you looked closely you could find the local's shops tucked in between the tourist traps. He paused at one little shop that held blown glass figurines in the window, their iridescent edges glinting in the lighting. He saw one that looked like a purple dragon wrapped around a  glowing red heart. His thoughts went to the day his sister died.      ********flash back     Grivacre looked down at his handy work. The two children laying on the ground. He was satisfied with the out come, both of them lying in a pool of blood. He didn't necessarily want to kill both of them but, it worked out to his advantage. He nudged the lifeless bodies with his booted foot. Now, to pretend he found them this way, making Lillith think he did his best to save them, but he was too late. He figured this would cause enough heartache Nervem and she would separate and he could swoop in and love her the way she deserved.      He ran from the children, yelling for help. "I found the twins! Some one help me!" he yelled to the group searching nearby. As he reached to pick up Chusi, he noticed Alev start to move. "God dammit," Grivarce cursed. He swallowed the panic rising in his throat. There's no way he will survive he thought to himself. Even if he does, he doesn't know I did this."      The searches came up to Grivarce, seeing his panicked state they assumed it was from seeing the children laying in their own blood. They tried to console him telling they would be okay.      As they picked up Chusi, Alev began to stir. "Chusi," was he said before he the loss of blood became too much and he passed out.     ************     Alev pushed the harsh memory of his sister away. He wasn't here for that. He needed to find Aislinn and her shop. He continued down the board walk until he found it.      He entered opened the door to Dreamers, to be greeted by Aislinn. "I have been waiting for you Alev." she said softly. Her beauty defying her age, she didn't look like someone that would be over five  hundred years old. Her white hair and laugh lines, telling you she was well into her crone years. Her violet eyes still had that sparkle of youth.     "I'm sorry I'm late, Aislinn." he apologized. "Mother would like to speak with you if you are available to come back to the island with me."      Aislinn smiled, " I know she does. I will be accompanying you back."     She watched as Alev wandered the small shop. He paused at the rack that held t-shirts, he saw one that caught his eye. The black shirt had a raven haired female standing in front of a dragon. She held a sword and the dragon could have been  one that looked just like his.      "That is a pretty nice shirt, Alev. But, I think  you would benefit more from this," she said as she handed him a small vial of sleeping potion.      He looked at her, and smiled wryly, " I guess it's that obvious, huh?"     "Yes, it is." she said gently. "You have to stop blaming yourself Alev."      "Easier said than done," he mumbled, " I have to head over to the fire department yet."     Aislinn gave a knowing smile, "You have a lot coming of age this year huh?"      "Yes, what are you smiling like that for?"      "It's just been quite a few years that's all."         ***********     Back at the cafe, Bodhi, Esmy, Freya and Circe all sat down at what was considered "their booth" and ordered their breakfast. Raven still with her grandmother having a good time in the kitchen.      As their breakfast arrived so did she, her little hands holding a massive cinnamon roll, that had regulars and tourists flocking to the cafe. The pastry was bigger than her mother would have liked her to have, but what can you do when your grandma makes them?          "Hi momma!" she said."Gamma gived me this cimmamin roll" the three year old was so excited at the prize she received.      "I see that, little bird, are you gonna be able to finish that?" Esmy asked, she looked at her mother.      Merideth feigned innocence, "I told her she could have one. She picked that one."      Freya was doing her best not to laugh out right, her niece quickly becoming a sticky mess from the cinnamon sugar filling and cream cheese icing. They all spoiled Raven and the new baby won't be any different.       They were finishing breakfast when Circe excused herself, "I need to get to the shop." She said her bright orange and yellow out fit swirling, around her like sunshine. She picked up her over size hat and smiled. "I'll see you all later.Freya you'll come over and see me and Aislinn later right?" she said almost pointedly.     Freya nodded to her aunt then looked at Raven, "Come on sticky face, let's go get cleaned up. So we can go to ocean."     They mention of the beach making Raven clap her hands happily," Let's go Auntie Feya" she said as she lifted her arms to let Freya pick her up. While they were in the restroom getting cleaned up, Raven looked at her aunt.      "Aunt Feya,"      "Freya" she corrected her niece gently. She didn't mind her missing the 'r' but knew that Esmy and Bodhi wanted her to practice.      "Aunt Freya," she corrected herself, speaking slowly concentrating on the correct pronunciation of her aunt's name. ," when you go away , will you bring me something back?"     Freya stopped mid wipe of Raven's face," Sweet cheeks, I'm not going away," she said quietly. She whispered in her niece's ear.     Raven looked confused at Freya, she just knew she was going to be going away soon. Her dreams told her so.     "Okay Auntie. Let's go to the ocean." she said. " I want to swim in the waves and make a sand castle."     They left the restroom and met up with Bodhi and Esmy. "Ready to go?"
