On The Hunt

Daniel and the other six vampires have arrived in the forest. It was so dark and eerie. all of their eyes turned bright red in the darkness. No one spoke. they all sharpen their sense of hearing to catch the sound of the way that will be the target of their prey.

It didn't take long for their ears to pick up on the sound and other footsteps in the forest. All the vampires looked at each other. Daniel gave them a code to let the horse they ride there. Then Daniel flew and landed on a tree branch without making a sound, the five vampire knights and Ben followed in his footsteps.

Daniel signals Ben to go first and attack one of them. Without arguing the slightest Ben stepped forward. He flew slowly and landed on one of the trees. The bow he stretched and arrows began to be aimed. The five black bandits who were walking in a dazed state didn't realize the danger. Within seconds, an arrow shot and hit one of the five bandits' legs.

"Who is there!" shouted the bandit.

They panicked and started looking at the tree. They just realized that they were deliberately herded into the forest to be hunted. They had been looking for a way out of the forest for a long time, but they couldn't get out and just circled around in the same place.

Daniel gave the code to the five knights. They can attack as they please. The instructions were immediately greeted with crooked smiles from the knights. They prepared arrows and started shooting at the five bandits.

The ground was deliberately shot miss the target. It was done so that the bandits were frightened and started running for cover. when they start running scared that's when hunting becomes more interesting to do. Especially if they start to attack back, the hunt will be even more fun.

Ben lets the five knights hunt down the five bandits. He looked at Daniel then moved to his place.

"What do you think?" asked Ben. Judging by Daniel's gaze, he was sure something was bothering him.

"Last night, at midnight. Is Bella with you?" asked Daniel.

Ben remembered for a moment. "That's right. She was with me at the time. We talked about her wish to be your wife," said Ben. "Why do you ask that?" asked Ben.

Daniel was silent. His heart hesitated between telling the truth or just keeping the problem to himself.

"Nothing," Daniel answered finally. He raised his bow, drew an arrow and let it go. Not long after, coals of fire were seen burning along with the death cry of one of the bandits. Daniel can kill someone with his arrows without even having to look at the person. He just needs to use the accuracy of his hearing and smell. That way he can measure the exact location of whoever is his target.

"How is our royal mustika doing?" asked Ben.

"Do you really care?" asked Daniel.

Ben nodded solemnly.

Daniel threw his bow and arrows to the ground. When the five knights were busy hunting and some distance away, Daniel felt his back. The image of the red dragon glowed brightly and dimmed as Daniel had grasped a sword. When he pulled it out, the image of the dragon disappeared following Daniel's sword.

"See for yourself," said Daniel.

Ben brought his face closer. He could not hold the weapon, because if he was desperate to do so, then the essence of his life would be absorbed into the sword and he would die instantly.

The dragon-shaped sword that matched its famed prowess was very beautiful to look at. Every now and then the sword glowed red. The dragon's head was directly above the handle of the sword. While the tip of the sword looks like a dragon's tail.

"Gosh. Where's the black crystal? Isn't this a pair?" Ben asked frantically.

Daniel put his sword back on his back. In an instant the sword disappeared and the image of the dragon on Daniel's back reappeared.

"The crystal is inside Jane's body," said Daniel surprising Ben.

"What?" Ben was very surprised. It was impossible for an ordinary human to survive with the black crystals on his body. The red dragon sword has two crystal eyes. One white crystal and one black crystal. The two complement each other even though their energies are different. Black crystals have dark or negative energy whereas white crystals have the opposite. These two crystals have tremendous energy. No vampire can withstand it. And if only one crystal was inside the sword it meant that the weapon's power was not perfect.

"Tell me whatever happens. I swear, my life will be at stake." Ben raised his hand. Cut his thumb and dripped his blood on the ground. It was the red dragon vampire nation's death oath ritual.

Daniel took a deep breath. "Don't let Alex know. Only you and the knights know."

Ben nodded. Daniel told Ben everything. She hoped that her feelings for Ben would ease the burden on her heart.

"Gosh. How can you keep all this to yourself. Whether you admit it or not, I'm still your uncle and I'm your only living relative in the family. Even though I know that part of my family is one of the traitors to the kingdom, I remain loyal and I will help you," said Ben.

"Thank you," said Daniel.

"But why do you want to keep everything a secret from Alex? I know he's your keeper as well as your best friend."

Daniel looked up at the stars. "I'm afraid to burden him. Because he continues to take care of me and ensure my safety he has forgotten his own life."

"You're very human. Even though humans call us monsters," said Ben.

"It can't be helped. It's better to be a human monster than to be a human but a monster at heart," said Daniel.

Ben smiled proudly. "We're really lucky. Because we still have a leader like you. Really," said Ben.

"Watch your word, Ben. I'm amused to hear that," said Daniel. "Kill your son of a b***h. I've killed one of them," said Daniel.

Ben raised his bow, and soon the arrows flew fast. There were screams and flames in the distance. Ben's archery ability has not changed. He is capable of better than Daniel in killing from a distance. Therefore Daniel's father asked Ben to train him as a child.

"You're still great," said Daniel.

"Of course. I'm great to have had a student like you."

Daniel smiled. He called the knights to go home. The five bandits had died. Daniel jumped on his horse followed by all the vampires. They rode back into the house. After cleaning himself, Daniel immediately went to Jane's room. He wanted to see her condition. He felt sorry for doing that to Jane. Daniel wants to apologize. But when Daniel entered the room. Jane was fast asleep. Daniel slowly pulled the blanket off, but Daniel was very surprised. He only saw the bolster underneath, but his smell said that Jane was still in the room. Could it be... Daniel turned around and did as he expected. He saw Jane had turned into Alice in her trademark clothes. Black dress and heavy make up.
