11. Dinner

600 Words
After that short "pep-talk" in the bathroom we hurried back downstairs, entering the grand living room, only to find a young woman, looking around her early thirties, dressed as a maid, wiping clean a small glass coffee table. We approached her and as soon as she raised her sight, I greeted her with a warm smile. "Excuse me, ma'am, do you by any chance happen to know where the four "happy friends" left?" I nicely asked, also earning a small chuckle from Leila at my choice of calling them while the young woman simply smiled back. "Yes, they are currently sitting in the dining room. Come now," She motioned for us to follow her,"Master instructed me to escort you there,” She explained, that warm smile still etched on her soft features. Master?? What the f**k? He's asking his maids to call him master? What are we, in the early 1920's? We followed her through the large hallway, and as soon as were ached our destination, she opened the huge wooden doors for us, motioning for us to walk inside so we complied, mouthing her a small "thank you". As usual, Rick was sitting right next to Luc, discussing about the business they were planning to start together while Raphael sat across him, lazily leaning back in his chair, looking rather bored already, absentmindedly watching them both. However, the one who truly managed to catch my attention was Azrael, who was sitting all alone at the far end, his gaze fixated down on the small knife he was absently toying with, twisting it in the massive wooden table -apparently his brother didn't seem bothered at all that he was practically ruining his expensive furniture- his perfectly chiseled features displaying a deep frown, seeming like he was having an internal battle. I felt really bad seeing him sitting there all alone, looking like he was being punished or something similar to that.So I grabbed Leila's arm and practically pushed her to sit right next to Rick, throwing her a playful wink when she looked at me slightly uneasy, then made my way straight towards Azrael and took a seat next to him. But as soon as I sat down, his gaze slowly lifted from the small knife, raising one eyebrow, giving me a questioning look which I quickly responded to with a warm smile. His gaze then quickly fell down again, focusing back on that knife, continuing on making tiny holes and scraps on the neat surface. I quickly took a glance at the other end of the table, noticing Leila chatting with Luc, escaping small giggles here and there while Rick's arm was resting on the back of her chair in a rather possessive manner, attentively watching their exchange. Oh Ricky... I smiled to myself, lightly shaking my head, the sound of a chair scraping on the hard wooden floor suddenly pulling me out of my thoughts so I turned my head to the side, facing the source, noticing Raphael taking a seat right in front of me, a smirk now displaying all over his features. "Hi,” He greeted in a soft tone, running a hand through his jet black hair, ruffling it even more, his dark brown, almost black eyes staring right back into mine. "Hi” I blurted out, giving him a light smile, feeling slightly intimidated by his burning gaze. An awkward moment of silence followed as I kept my eyes trained on that small knife twisting on the table, until I suddenly heard a question that left a lump formed in my throat. "You still have some questions to answer to,remember?"
