CHAPTER FIVEThere was certainly no sign of poverty in the house in Grosvenor Square. The Viscount’s friends came to the house for dinner and on several evenings, when Sheila was going up to bed, she would hear them leaving. She knew that they were either telling each other amusing stories or teasing some unfortunate man over the trouble he was in, undoubtedly with a woman. She found that the Viscount was always very polite to her. In fact he treated her as if she was a lady and not a servant.
