MEL CALLED DANA FROM the conference room and explained that she was tied up with a case and she might be a while. When she hung up with her wife, she thought for a minute, then had Holly put her through to Andrea Anderson’s direct line at the Justice Center.
The DDA answered herself, “Anderson. How can I help you?”
“Andrea, it’s Mel Crane. I know you have a deposition in a half hour. Any chance it was canceled and you can come back over here?”
“No, sorry. It’s still on. I was just gathering my stuff to head over to the room we’re using. Why? What’s up?”
