Chapter 14: Adriana woke in a strange room, or at least she thought the place was strange. She couldn’t remember it, but the problem was she couldn’t remember anything. She stood facing out a window. The sun, or what might be the sun, hung low in the sky. By the shadows, it was either early morning or late afternoon, she found it hard to tell. There were no telltale signs which it might be. Even the shadows and colors seemed strange. She couldn’t put her finger on it. Her mind seemed fuzzy, not all there. The first thing she remembered was opening her eyes and staring from this great height out a window. Certain she should remember such a wonderful sight if it came to her, she felt she could see forever until the vista grew fuzzy in the distance. That reminded her of her memories. The
