The Next Day
The sound of Zayna's voice startled me awake. Opening my eyes, I saw her and Liam standing by my bed.
The morning light seeped through the curtains, casting a soft glow on their faces.
As I was about to say good morning to them, Zayna spoke, "Auntie, wake up. Mum says it's almost time for lunch now."
I glance at my phone, which shows it's already 11:46 a.m. I stretch my arms and yawn, feeling groggy from my deep sleep.
As I rub my eyes, Liam walks towards my bed, asking for help getting up.
I lift him up, and he softly kisses each of my cheeks, greeting me with a warm "Good morning, Auntie."
I return the gesture and also greet Zayna, who's standing nearby.
