Bad Rescue

1212 Words
It has been hours since the Angel Prince and Mother left my cell. Tomorrow is the day I die, the day they cut off my head in front of everyone.   I really don't care anymore. Death can't better than this life. As long I didn't do what they say I did, I will not regret anything. They can go ahead and end my pain, as long as they don't torture me anymore.   "Hey, Susie! You ain't attending the party tonight?" I hear a man's voice say. Whoever they are, they are right in front of my cell door.   "The Prince wants this cell guarded, I don't know why he thinks the dead body inside can escape." A female voice replies.   "Hmmm! You want to go to the party?" The male voice asks.   "Yeah, but I am stuck here, can't disobey the Angel." She answers. "Are you going to be a gentleman and guard for me, Tony?"   "If you promise to bring me one of those delicious cakes your mother cooks." The man suggests.   "Okay, I'll woe you a cake."   "It's a deal then. You may go." The man says.   I don't hear any more sounds for ten minutes when the door clicks open. Footsteps enter.   "Hello, my little Angel!  My name is Tony, I am Irene's mate but...well, she is pretending she doesn't have a wolf so she rejected me!" I hear his voice say. Almost everyone has gone to the party, being the fool that I am, I decided to risk rescuing you."   That sounds like a real foolish idea. Bit what have I got to lose?   I nod my head. "I can't walk." I whisper.   "That's Okay, aI don't think you weigh too much" He says and picks me from the floor. I hiss in pain.   "You got to be quiet, we can't afford to be discovered this early." He says. I mentally zip my mouth as he carries me out of the cell.   I have no energy to keep my eye open to see where he is taking me. All I know is he descends a lot of stairs, then splints into a full speed run.   After he has been running for a while, I hear him start panting. Yeah, even werewolves tire. Right then, The loud sound of the palace alarm bells fills the air.   "Oh hell!" Tony matters. "I am sorry but I am going to run at a speed that your injured body may have a problem enduring". He says.   "It's okay, I have endured too much already." I reply   Tony runs at a speed I didn't know a werewolf could have. I feel my body brashing against twigs and I snap my eyes open.   Tony just lead us back to the pack forest, I got a bad feeling about this.   "He is close to us!" Tony says panicking.   "Who?"   "The angel Prince!" He answers still running. "I can smell him."   Well, we just got caught then. No way Tony is going to outrun a flying man.   But my man is determined, even with breathe coming out in heavy gasps, he keeps the run.   Finally he stumbles into a clearing. Ahead is a very thin bridge, and a very deep abyss below it. The bridge is built so close to the waterfall. The cliffs the bridge hangs goes farther than eyes can see in darkness. One can ear the falling water smashing on rocks somewhere deep in that dark abyss.   I am scared as I watch Tony approach the bridge. I would rather have by having my head cut in public than fall down there.   "Hold still." Tony orders as he steps on the swinging bridge. I close my eyes and try to hold into his jacket.   We are half way I hear two feet land behind us. Tony turns slowly. The tall, Angel Prince stands near the bridge. His eyes bear so much anger.   "Why Tony? I gave you a chance to join my army despite you being a rogue! And this is how you repay me?!" The angel roars at Tony.   "I am helping you, Your Majesty. But I am afraid you won't realise it until it is too late." Tony replies. He doesn't sound afraid of the Prince.   "Helping me? By rescuing the person that hurt my mate?! She is your mate, isn't she?" The Prince asks stepping on the bridge. It swings even more.   "No. She is too special to be my mate. And too special to have hurt that vixen you call your mate!" Tony snaps.   "Oh! You dare insult my Irene? Because of that pathetic thing on your shoulders? She is being executed tomorrow, whether you like it or not!" The angel says now approaching.   "I ain't letting that happen!" Tony declares. "Sarah, hope you live to understand this. Sometimes, it is better to take chances." He says before tossing me off his shoulders and into the abyss.   "Nooooo!" I scream as my body keeps falling through the darkness. What did Tony do!   My body suddenly hits cold, running water. I feel myself sinking, drowning! My arms flail. I don't know how to swim! Waves of speeding water hit me, pushing me downstream.   * * * * * ISAIC'S POV   "Now you're going to prison cells!" I say to the man standing in front of me wearing a smile. I wonder what he is pleased about, that girl isn't going to live. Not having been that injured. And my eyes just watched her get washed downstream, unable to swim.   "I am fine with that. You see, there is a day coming that you will thank me." The soldier says still smiling.   "Yeah, sure! Get moving!" I order.   The man surprisingly follows me. What is this he thinks he knows that I don't.   He tags behind me until we get to the edge of the forest where pack soldiers meet us. Most charge at Tony.   "Stop!" I order them. "He just wanted to save his mate! Surely you understand." I say and they all gape at Tony. There is pity in their eyes.   "So where is the girl?" One soldiers asks.   "He let her fall down from the bridge, thought he was saving her." I answer for Tony.   I also question whether the girl was his mate, the man doesn't seem as devastated as I think I would be if it was Irene.   "Take him to the pack cells!" I say. I could have forgiven him he could admit he was saving her because she is his mate. But it seems he may have done it for spite.   Since the evil girl just drowned, I don't feel like wasting time my time walking back to the palace with my mad soldier. I need to quickly get back to my mate. So I soar into the air.   That girl's smell keeps on bothering me. I don't understand why she can manage to smell like my mate when Irene smells like fur.   I had originally thought that it was because she and Irene had been close to each other the day she attacked her. But when I visited her cell this morning, that sweet scent was still there, making me feel attracted to her when all I want is to never see her.
