Julia and, Bonnie sit, patiently waiting for John at the same table that Bonnie sat at a day ago. Although they sit quietly, not saying a word to each other, the tension is palpable. During the car ride over to the detention center, Julia almost backed out of the meeting, claiming that it is ridiculous that she must lie under oath to release someone who has already proven themselves incapable of taking care of the little girl they are there to protect. Lucky for Bonnie, Julia was already in the vehicle. As they sit in silence, Bonnie’s mind is anything but idle.
