I was nervous by the time Friday evening came around. The snacks and drinks were already in place downstairs, along with all the usual games. I set up two tables this time, since we would be having four more people than usual. I’d changed into so many shirts, my bed was littered with them, and I still didn’t know what to wear. I returned to my closet and realized there were some clothes in the back that I’d forgotten I owned, covered up as they were by the shirts that usually hung in front. It was nothing earth shattering, but still, clothes I hadn’t worn in over a decade, if at all. Polo shirts, oxford cut long sleeved and mid-elbow length shirts, in a variety of muted colors. Even a pinstriped shirt or two that, I remembered now, Chester had bought me for my birthday a few years ago.
