“Excuse me,” Pamela said to Lloyd and Cameron as she slowly walked through the exit door to a quiet area outside of the stadium. When she was far enough away that she could speak and no one else was around her, she answered the call.
There was no name identifying the caller. The screen indicated the call was from the 808 area code. Instantly, Pamela knew it was from the Hawaiian Islands.
“Daniel, is this you?” she asked, knowing he had a new case in Maui.
“Hey, Pam. Sorry to bother you. I was told you’re at an Aikido tournament in Tokyo. Hope you’re kicking some.”
“No. I’m not competing this time. I’m just here to watch. I’ve been asked to participate in a demonstration, but I don’t know if…”
