I get up from my desk turning the computer off.
" Come on Tommy," I grab my keys.
" I'm coming," he stands up. We walk out of the station to my car.
" Today was s**t," Tommy opens the door. " I know. We can't find him anywhere." We spent all day calling around to other stations seeing if Walts have been around. " I bet he's in Imani's territory." I get in the driver seat starring the car up.
" He could be but do we really want her on our radar with Taylor and the girls in our territory." I pull out the lot heading to the pack. Tommy shakes his head looking out the window.
" We are close in showing that she was framed."
" Yeah, let's hope we can in the next month." Tommy nods his head, " let's get a drink."
" Can't. I told Taylor that if she helps mom today. I'll take her to get this book."
" What type of book is it?"
" Don't know but she wants it bad."
" When y'all leaving?"
" Probably in a couple of hours after I get to the pack."
" Need me to come."
" I'm going to need someone I can trust. I don't know where we going. Might be somewhere crazy."
" Yeah man." We drive down the single road that goes in and out of our territory when I see movement in the forest.
" You see that?"
" Yeah. I think I saw red eyes."
Fuck they are watching us. I'm need to switch cars to take Taylor out. I drive to Tommy's house parking on the curb.
" Call me when you're ready," Tommy gets out of the car.
" Okay," I pull off going to my moms house. I park next to dad's truck then get out. I walk up the stairs knocking on the door. A few seconds later the door flies open," you can't find a free meal anywhere else."
" But dad the best meal comes from the people that love you." He smiles walking down the hall. I close the door going straight to the kitchen.
" Hey mom," I walk over to the stove kissing her cheek.
" Hey baby. How was your day."
" It was okay. How was your day with Taylor?"
" It was wonderful."
" Really," I raised my eyebrows.
" Yes. She's actually nice and humble. "
" What did she do for you to say that?" Mom walks over to the table placing a plate in front of me and dad.
" The women were being overbearing in the meeting about kicking Taylor out. So I ended the meeting early. She stayed telling the ladies this was all her fault and if anyone needs to talk to her she's available." I nod my head as mom walks back to the table with her plate.
" We went to the library and she read to the kids. She volunteered to read to the kids. She has a soft spot for them then we went to the infirmary visiting Derek."
" How did that go?"
" Great actually. They talked a little strategy for training."
" It sounds like it was a good day."
" It was," mom smiles.
"It's good to hear. Glad Taylor was a help to you. Dad what about your day?"
" Not as exciting as your moms but I managed today."
"Okay dad." We finish dinner talking about the upcoming events with the pack. I help mom clear the table while dad goes in the living room.
" Mom can I borrow your car?"
" For what?"
" I sorta promise Taylor I would take her somewhere."
" Boy you know how dangerous it is to have her out there. Plus some of the pack members said they have been seeing weird stuff at night."
" Yeah me and Tommy saw some movement and red eyes when we came in." Dad walks in, " you seen something too?"
" Yeah. The night I hit Taylor there were red eyes in the forest as well. It could be them watching."
" Yeah. I need to put more patrols in the forest. Don't need them to surprise attack us." I nod my head agreeing with him.
" The keys are hanging on the wall by the front door."
" Thanks," I kiss her cheek.
" I'll see y'all in the morning," I head to the front door. I grab the keys leaving out the front door. I click the button to lift the garage door. I walk to mom's jeep unlocking the door. I get in starting the car pulling out of the garage. I drive to Grace's house thinking about Taylor. What is it about that intrigues me? She's beautiful but there's something else that I can't see. I park on the curb then get out walking to Grace's front door. I stop at the front door listening to them talk.
" What are you going to give her in exchange?"
" What she always wanted."
" That ruby."
" Yeah."
" Taylor that means the world to you."
"I know but I need her help." I shuffle closer to the door but they stop speaking. I knock on the door, " who is it?"
" Kaine." The door flies open," come in." I walk in going to the living room. Niome and Nayyirah sit on the couch watching tv.
" Hey girls," I wave before sitting in the chair.
" Hey," they say without moving their eyes from the tv. Taylor walks in wearing jeans, a balck zip up hoodie and a black baseball cap. I stand up," you ready?"
" Where are yall going," Nayyirah peels her eyes away from the tv.
" To get some information." Taylor walks out and I follow behind her.
" Whoa whoa there. That's not a lot of information." Both girls walk behind us.
" I'll be back." Taylor steps out the front door.
" Grace, where is she going?" We continue to the car.
" I need to stop and pick somebody up," I get in the driver seat.
" Okay," Taylor gets in the backseat. I pull off going to Tommy's house. I mindlink Tommy, I'm on my way.
We're ready.

Susan and me.
This is not a field trip Tommy. I know but she's coming if I agree or not. I park in front of their house. I look in the rear view mirror at Taylor looking out the window. Tommy and Susan walk out the house to the car. Susan gets in the back while Tommy sits in the passenger seat. I watch as Taylor looks at Susan and Tommy.
" Taylor, you know my partner Tommy. This is his mate Susan."
" Hey," she says in a low tone.
" Hi, it's so nice to finally to meet you.You really caused to a commotion these last few day."
" That's what I heard," Taylor smiles.
" Where to?" Taylor looks up meeting my eyes in the mirror. We stare at each other for a few seconds before she looks away. " New Orleans."
" The supernatural capital," Susan bounces in her seat. I pull off, " we should stop at a store for this two hour drive."
" We'll do that when we get farther away." As we drive down the single road I spot a movement in the woods. I glance in the rearview mirror seeing Taylor looking down.
" You see that," Susan points.
" What," Tommy asks.
" Red eyes on the side of the car."
" What do you want us to do?"
" Mindlink patrol." I look to my right seeing a human body attached to the red eyes.
" There on the way." I nod staying focused on the road. A couple minutes later, werewolves were on both sides of the car.
They ran away.

I'll have a couple of men on this road until you come back.
Thanks. They run back into the woods. I look back in the mirror to see Taylor looking out the window.
" They'll be patrolling the road until we get back. There's no need to worry." Taylor looks at me, " tell the patrols to leave the road or they'll follow us."
" I'm on it," Tommy says. After a few minutes we hit the main road ," where are we going?"
" First I need to stop at this bar before we go to the French quarters."
"Just tell me where to go." Tommy reaches over turning the radio on.
