|Valeri’s POV|
I jolt awake to someone splashing water on me and it takes me a while to recover from the sudden shock that came with being baptized with water in bed, that too in a really strange room.
“Thank goodness you a finally awake, otherwise I wouldn’t have known what else to do,” my bestie, Vivian remarks.
“You had me thinking of how I was going to break it to your parents that you slept and refused to wake up on your big day,” Vivian shudders.
“What exactly are you talking about?” I inquire from her because just a few moments ago, I saw myself getting killed and more than that being a dream it felt so real to me.
“I was expecting you to wake up early so that we can start with preparations for your big day, but when I got to the room you were sweating profusely like you were behind chased in your dream, you even cried,” she informs me and I quickly touch my face feeling the tears on my face.
“Did you just say big day?” I ask Vivian and she nods.
“Which big day is it?” I ask her with a puzzled expression.
“Do you need to be reminded that today is the day that you will marry the head of the Remington family?” Vee hisses and I go wide-eyed.
“Are you okay?” Vee inquires but I can feel balls of sweat forming on my forehead.
“What does she mean by today is the day I am getting married to Grey Remington?” I ponder.
“I didn’t say Grey Remington, I said the head of the Remington family” Vee corrects and I hiss.
“I married to Grey Remington already and I even got killed as a result of his betrayal so what is all this about?” I ask myself clutching my necklace because for some reason, the whole space seems to be closing up on me and I just can’t breathe properly.
“Hey,” Vee says in a low voice that comes out more like a whisper as she lifts my chin so that I am face to face with her.
“Today is your big day, the day you are getting married to the head of the Remington family, not Grey Remington,” Vee emphasizes as if she is trying to inscribe it in my memory, but little does she know that I don’t want to hear it at all.
“I can see it in your eyes, the panic,” Vee says with her eyes boring into my soul.
“What has gotten you so scared?” she inquires.
I can’t start telling Vivian that I have lived this life before and the fact that I am getting married to the head of the Remington family is just a cover-up because the one I will be getting married to is Grey Remington himself.
“This hotel room, what we are both wearing, and the decoration is the same as the life I lived a year ago,” I realize in horror.
“Could it be that what I thought was my life a year ago was nothing but a dream, or what I am experiencing presently is the real dream because that b***h called Madison made me hit my head on the pot a moment ago,” I ponder?
“Wait a minute,” I say with a dramatic pause.
“What about my baby?” It suddenly occurs to me.
“I was at least six months pregnant with my baby bump slightly visible when I fell, so where is my baby?” I ask Vee who just stares at me like I have completely gone mad.
“Who saved me from Grey Remington’s mansion and what exactly happened to my baby?” I ask Vee silently hoping and praying that both my baby and I were saved in time.
“How did you get to Grey Remington’s mansion and where did you get a baby?” Vee answers my question with her question.
“Who the f**k is Grey Remington and what do you mean by what happened to your baby?” she questions puzzled.
“Did you by any chance get your V card broken without informing your best friend?” Vee switches to questioning me and that makes me wonder why she is asking me such a question when we both know that my V card was broken by Grey Remington because I gave her the full gist.
“Did you by any chance have a one-night stand with a stranger?” Vee inquires, eyeing me suspiciously.
“What the hell are you talking about?” I ask her with my confusion deepening.
“You don’t have a boyfriend so a one night with a stranger is the only way you could have gotten your V card broken which may be why you may think that you are pregnant,” Vee explains making me confused.
“Wait a minute, what is today's date?” I interrupt Vee’s assumption as my eye lands on the calendar in the bedside drawer.
“19th July 2021,” Vee answers nonchalantly confirming the month and year that is on the page of the calendar.
“Wait a minute…” I try to calm myself down because it is unbelievable that the time automatically rest itself to a year ago.
“Can I have my phone?” I ask Vee and she passes it to me on the drawer of the dressing mirror while still giving me the same scrutinizing look that she has been giving me for a while now.
I snatch the phone from Vee and I go straight to check the date on the phone but it is no different from what Vee just told me so I decided to go online to check.
“What year are we?” I type in my Google search box on Chrome.
“Holy f**k!” I exclaim in shock.
“Is this a rebirth or is this a time travel?l” I question no one in particular, not knowing how exactly to feel about the situation that I find myself in.
