Prologue Part 2

Thirty seconds came to an end and the rest of the players were released onto the grassland. Sure enough, all five members of Dragonrush began running at full speed towards the mountain, and the Titan at its peak. “SINS and Luminous are now in position,” Smiles was almost screaming in excitement, “They are sat there looking at the Heart and Soul Shrines, waiting for Dragonrush to show up but they just aren’t coming! SINS is up a tree, scratching his head. You can see that SINS has dropped down sentry spheres on the Earth and Sky Shrines as well. They know that Dragonrush isn’t there.” “You can see the confusion in SINS and Luminous, normally he would have made the call for the rest of the team to head for an objective by now, but with no information he can’t and his team have no other choice but to keep running towards him. He has to make a call.” Another moment passed and Dragonrush continued to storm towards the Titan. SINS jumped down from his tree and the camera panned back to the rest of Divine Arts who were now splitting up. “SINS knows something is up, and he is now taking a really risky play as well. He’s made the call for the team to split up, each member going to claim the bonus from a different Shrine. If Dragonrush are waiting in ambush somewhere it’s a guaranteed kill, however, Divine Arts will happily trade a kill and a Shrine for the other three shrines.” “Dragonrush have reached the titan!” The camera switched view again, showing the blue team battling fiercely away with a 15-meter-tall giant that was throwing bolts of lightning at them. “Without buffs this is going to be a really long fight,” Spooks said, “But it should still be under a minute. It takes thirty seconds to climb the mountain, meaning that Divine Arts only have thirty more seconds to realise what is going on.” The crowd that had been cheering throughout was now silent, spellbound with what was happening. They cut back to the Divine Arts teammates who were now all securing the bonuses from the Shrines and looking about, confused. Then it showed SINS, running out towards the northern desert. “It looks like SINS thinks that Dragonrush has gone to fight one of the dragons. It has to be over, right Spooks?” “Yeah, it looks like this is it, Luminous is also running to check on the southern dragon. And now the other members of the team are heading towards the dragons as well. There is no way they get back in time.” SINS got to the dragon first, an eight meter tall, winged reptile that roared as he approached. He looked at it stunned, then turned back towards the mountain. “HE’S REALISED WHAT’S HAPPENING BUT ITS TOO LATE! The Titan is at 10% of its health, Dragonrush Gaming take game 3! This match isn’t over! The reigning champions are not going down without a fight! We are going to have to settle this with game four!” Smiles screamed. The camera panned around the battle at the top of the mountain. The Titan slumped to one knee. Then there was a flash of blue light, and a figure in a red robe appeared in the middle of the fight. A shockwave of golden energy rippled out from him, catching all five Dragonrush players inside it. “Oh my god! Fenrir had teleport attached this whole time? That is such an expensive perk, how have Divine Arts been winning these games without using it? This is insane!” Spooks said, aghast. “Not only that, he hit himself and all five members of Dragonrush with a Time Stop spell, putting them in stasis. In a time stasis spell they can’t move but they also can’t be attacked or damaged. It’s going to buy the rest of his team a crucial 10 seconds to reach him and stop the Titan, plus the time it takes for Dragonrush to kill Fenrir as the Titan cannot be damaged while an enemy player is nearby,” Smiles continued “It’s going to do more than that Smiles! Look at the Titan!” There was a crash that sounded like a headset falling off. “You okay? Well you’re right Spooks, without a valid target nearby, the Titan is returning to its throne and is regenerating all its health! It’s over, the Titan has too much health to finish off and Divine Arts is coming with ALL FOUR Shrines at their disposal.” Sure enough when Dragonrush came out of stasis, they almost instantly killed the mage in their midst, shattering him into pieces that looked like glass, which in turn quickly disappeared. They managed to get a few more hits off on the Titan, but it wasn’t enough. The rest of Divine Arts was coming up the mountain. Dragonrush tuned to face the newcomers, but under the furious onslaught of empowered attacks that Divine Arts rained down on them, it was a quick battle. “Well, that’s it, in a game that literally resulted in my co-commentator falling off his chair, Divine Arts claims the Season 8 Skylair Online World Championship! Spooks, is this the best team we’ve ever seen?” “Yeah, Smiles, it has to be, they made Dragonrush look like amateurs out there. A really well-deserved victory.” Ben scratched his head and laughed as he watched SINS lifting the trophy and having confetti rain down around him. “One day, that will be me,” Ben said. “Sure kid,” Nina said, returned the box of cookies to the kitchen and went back to her room. “I just need a team,” Ben muttered to himself.
