Happily Never After A Witches Tale

Once upon a time.. That is how children's stories go, or at least that is what I have been told by Grandmother Willow. See once upon a time is supposed to be followed by a happily ever after. Grandmother Willow refused to see our story as one that would begin with once upon a time because there was no happily ever after in sight. But I believe that our story began with once upon a time and just hasn't found its happily ever after yet... Once upon a time.... The humans ruled the world and brought it great destruction. The Sun seen the destruction and grew angry. The Sun unable to hold it's anger threw a great ball of fire directly at Earth. The Sun regretted the damage that would be done to Earth but decided it was for the best Earth needed a fresh start without the evil humans so the Sun watched on as the great ball of fire headed to Earth and then destroyed everything it touched leaving no trace of humans or so the Sun thought. Before the great ball of fire destroyed the humans Mother Earth and Father Moon seen the great ball of fire. They knew the humans they so adored would be destroyed and thus decided to devise a plan behind the Sun's back. Mother Earth and Father Moon chose the humans they believed were best suited to handle great power and gifted them creating Witches and Vampires. Mother Earth then swallowed the chosen people just before the ball of fire destroyed everything protecting her and Father Moons beloved ones. Unfortunately for the Witches and Vampires this was not the end of their troubles. Humans were never meant to hold so much power. Mother Earth and Father Moon created them to help and support each other but instead the powers caused a rift between the two. See the Witches could now bring life to barren earth, anything was possible with just a little dirt but without control their powers were dangerous. Any angry Witch could draw the lava straight from the earth and burn away everything if not careful. The Vampires had it worse though.... Their new found strength and lack of pain was nothing compared to their new found hunger for blood. They quickly learned they could not feed off the Witches their blood being like poison a gift from Mother Earth in case the hunger was to much as it was. The hunger could only be replenished by the animals Mother Earth swallowed up to keep her beloveds alive. To the Vampires and Witches surprise the Witches could not create a living creature beyond plants. Meaning they could only care for the animals and not create more. The Vampires thirst nearly killed both themselves and the Witches as they devoured as many animals they could before the witches retaliated causing the war.... Luckily the Witches were able to push the Vampires deep into the caves of their underground tavern and hold their ground long enough to keep the Vampires away from the animals and without the blood the vampires grew weak and some even died. The Witches hated to see Vampires die but could not trust them so they made a loose treaty. The Witches took care of the animals and kept the Vampires alive but only Witches of royal blood could use magic this way if a witch with a heart not as kind as the ones that ruled now ever came to be the Vampires had a chance to defend themselves considering the Witches controlled their only food source. This semi peaceful treaty would only last as long as both kind rules ruled on both sides and both sides new one day a new treaty would need to be set in place or another war would break out...
