9 “But Dad, you promised I could go to the movies tonight!” Jasmine Miller exclaimed before stomping out of her father’s office. She left the door open behind her, brisk winter air gusting inside. Derek rolled his eyes and strode to the door. “The deal was homework done first. You still have plenty of time,” he called out before swinging the door shut.
