“Please do not kill me!” Erana cried out, feigning a panic attack. “I am just a young lady. I will do anything, but I have no money right now.”
“What are you doing?” Darius let her go with astonishment. “You should fight and not beg. Will you beg him not to kill you rather than defend yourself?”
“Violence isn’t always the answer Darius. He might be a nice guy. But what if he was really hungry and just wanted a piece of bread? Wouldn’t sharing that with him make the situation better? He might not harm me anymore if we feed him.” Erana forced a smile on her lips. Darius was done with her.
“Stick with talking to birds,” he threw away the stick and collected the bag he brought with him. He tucked it under his arm and walked back towards the way he came.
“Wait…what?! No! You can’t just give up on me like this,” Erana argued as she ran after him.
“Forget about fighting. It’s not your strong area. Anyone could murder you within the first two seconds anyway,” he gave his word.
“That doesn’t make me feel better. What if someone comes to attack me when you are not around? What will I do?” Erana asked.
“No one will,” he stopped walking and turned to her. “You are in a safe place. No one comes here.”
She watched him continue to walk away with the bag. Without thinking twice, she cowardly followed him whistling a song. He stopped and turned back to her.
“Where do you think you are going?” He asked with a frown.
“I am going wherever you are going,” she answered with a grin. “I believe you are my bodyguard from now on.”
“Excuse me?!” He was shocked by her confidence.
“Come on, it is no big deal,” she leaned against his shoulder. “You can protect me, can’t you?” He brushed her arm off.
“Stop touching,” he warned. “I have a Luna!”
She rolled her eyes and apologized. They walked down a small path, and arrived before a river, where he filled his pot to the brim. Erana felt a beautiful connection with the water and sat on a smooth rock.
“This place is cool,” she said. “It must be even cooler at night. Perhaps the cold will be unbearable as well.”
Darius nodded.
“Definitely freezing cold,” he agreed. “But Lunas can withstand it. They barely feel the drop in temperature when they come here at night.”
It was at this moment she recalled that he had a Luna for the second time. She took that as an opportunity to bring it up.
“Speaking about Lunas,” she began. “How is yours?”
Darius smiled at the thought of Tori.
“She is fire,” he said. “I never get enough of her.”
Erana arched her brows.
“So…,” she ran her hand down her brown hair. “You aren’t married to her yet?”
“Not until I am crowned, the Alpha King. That’s a period I do not know. My father is still young and hearty. I am not sure he is ready to relinquish the throne yet.”
Erana scoffed and turned back to the water.
“Well, if I were her, I would make him give up the throne for you,” she mumbled.
“You will what?” Darius asked with confusion. Erana giggled.
“Nothing,” she denied what she said. “I was just thinking of something. No big deal!“
“You are weird,” Darius confessed.
They headed back to the building where Darius dropped the pot of water. As he bent over the pot, he noticed Erana seductively running her hand over herself. Darius didn’t understand why she was doing that. He ignored the seductive movements and shut the pot. As he turned to leave, he noticed her amulet symbol and gazed at it with shock. There was something familiar about it that he couldn’t explain. He drew closer to her in admiration of the amulet. He wasn’t sure why its magic enticed him so much. There was definitely something about it. It could be a connection that had to do with the symbol on his back. He felt so drawn to it that he’d seen Erana in a different light.
Erana didn’t understand what was going on. Perhaps her seductive skills were working. She watched him drop his bag down on the dirty floor and lean closer to her. Her tension increased. This was her first time. She’s never done this before. He pressed his lips against hers and drew her closer to himself. Erana expected herself to be irritated, and feel a strong feeling to push him off. But surprisingly, she felt at ease. The Amulet made her feel an extraordinary confidence which she couldn’t explain. It was as if this ought to happen anyway…which…which made no sense. How though? It has to be for the plan! There was no way this isn’t related to the plan! It was the highest form of manipulation, and her Amulet was in support of it.
“It’s just for the manipulation! It’s for the manipulation alone,” she kept saying in her mind as the feeling intensified. His hands ran down her silky gown, and she felt the beautiful material press against her skin. She had no idea when a moan escaped from her lips. O! Goodness! What sound did she just make now? Why did it sound like that? Why is she tempted to make more? The touch got more enticing, and the more she tried to fight it, the more she wanted him. His touches were getting more interesting, and her boobs stood at his erotic advances. His hands aggressively tore off her gown, and he ran his hand down her stomach. There was no way this was Darius. This was someone else! This was an aggressive beast who’d gotten what he wanted after a long time. He acted like he’d found his place, and wasn’t ready to leave anytime soon. He got the fulfillment he craved. The fulfillment his heart craved. Erana didn’t believe in feelings, but his touch on her boobs and his breathing against her neck were way too erotic. There was no way it didn’t indulge feelings in her. Her heart began to race faster as she thought of her childhood trauma and the death of her mother. The feelings got more and more intense, and the murder of her mother slipped away from her mind slowly, replaced by emptiness. All she thought about was the feeling. Nothing but the feeling.
No way! She shouldn’t be enjoying this! There was no way she shouldn’t allow her heart to enjoy this! His father killed her mother. This ought to be a temporary thing before he gets together with his Luna. She arrived at her climax and screamed as tears rolled down her eyes. She felt deep regret and covered her mouth in shame. Darius gazed into her eyes and took her hands off her mouth.
“It is fine,” he told her softly. “I am here to protect you. You do not need to be scared, okay? I won’t let any harm come to you.” With these words, he kissed her on the cheeks and held her hands softly. “I will always protect you, Erana.”
Erana was still trying to find her breath. She gazed into his eyes with mixed feelings. This might not end up well.
