The dinner went well, with Ruby and Flora talking for length after putting the kids to bed. Ruby got to meet their five-year-old son; Duke, who had insisted on sleeping over with Summer.
She could tell the boy was fond of Summer and had a crush on Spring. Smiling now as she remembered the fuss he had made before his parents agreed with him staying the night. Ruby had also had to promise them that she would make sure he was well fed and not to worry about him. They would be picking him up later this evening.
She was really glad she met Flora and Lee again and was able to thank them for saving her life and sending her here. This morning, she had woken up early to make breakfast because Cameron had told her last night that his sister and grandmother were coming over today.
