When I got to my tiny room I vomited all I was holding back .my back hurts really bad and it felt like I was dying.
Soli rushed in with some hot water and medicine.luckily for me the chief maiden was out of the palace. Soli didn't ask any questions, which I will forever be greaful for
After applying the medicine soli asked me to rest and shouldn't bother about work
When she left, I couldn't hold back my tears. I'm pregnant, and I know it. if the king finds out he will not kill me but definitely hate me and think I'm a gold digger ., what should I do.
There was only one solution and that is leaving the palace and running away, and that I must do tonight
Few hours later, I packed my clothes and broke my saving box. I wrote a letter to soli Telling her I Left the palace.
Leaving the palace was an easy job for me because I'm always outside the palace buying foodstuff and other things for the kitchen
Once I was out of the palace I stood in front of the gate .where do I go from here, I can't go home because they will easily trace me there. I have to leave here as soon as possible.
I kept on walking with no direction. I was scared not for myself but for my unborn child.
Luckily, on my way I saw a man and his wife with a bag on their shoulders.I ask if I could join them and their gladly accept without questions
"So you are running from home huh? ." she asked
I nod my head in reply
"Is because of a boy?. "She asked while staring at me with curiosity
"Not really". I replied
"So where are you going from here ". the man asked
I have no idea
He looks at me with pity, and we continue the journey
Few hours later we stop by a hut
The lady suggested that's we should pass the night here and continue our journey in the morning
We started our journey the next morning, I was exhausted and weak and my back still hurts from yesterday
I was given food and water by the couples
"Where are you guys heading to, " I asked
"Home ". he replied
"Coming from where". I asked.
"My mother's burial". she replied

"Still have plans on where to go "
"No" . I replied
"Then you can join us" she muttured out those words staring at me.

For the first in a long time there was a smile on my face
We continued our journey, until we got to a village which, I sense, was theirs
"We are home ". She shouted happily.
The village was a small but peaceful town .we kept on walking still we got to a small compound and a small building
"This is home" the man replied
We went in, and she showed me a room where I could sleep and rest
She left me alone to rest.I wonder what was happening in the palace, has anyone noticed my absence, has the king remembered anything, will anybody be looking for me by now, I wondered .
Later that night she came into my room
"You can call me lali".
"Thanks a lot lali". I replied
"So, how many months gone are you "
"Sorry "?
"You are pregnant, I know "
I was shocked .can everyone notice it now?
"Don't be scared it's not noticeable"
"Do you want to talk about it "
Suddenly, I felt tears in my eyes
"You can tell me everything, I'm here to listen"
I look up at her and noticed how sincere she was to listen
So, I told her everything from beginning to end
She was shocked
"So you are pregnant with the the king's child". She muttured out in shock.

"And he can't remember anything "

"My dear, I think it's good you left, you are welcome here . I will talk to my husband and I know he will understand and agree"
"Thanks a lot lali "
"You are welcome, now have some rest ".
King Kai POV
"What do you mean Melanie is not in the palace "
"My king, her room is empty and all are things are gone "
Why would she leave the palace, was it because of the toture yesterday?

For some strange reason, I felt pain in my heart .

"How could this be".I yelled in anger
"She left a letter indicating she is leaving the palace"

My dear soli, I can't thank you enough for your love and support you gave me .but I have to leave the palace with this secret I carry with me. Making sure no one find out about it .don't worry about me, I will be safe .if not for anything but for the secret I carry.
"What secret is she talking about" .I demanded in anger

And my guards rushed in
"Find Melanie and bring her to me "

What could be the secret she carries. I need to find out.
The empress came in
"My king, you look stress "
"Do you know why Melanie left". I asked
"I have no idea my king ,maybe she has found herself a lover".at the mention of that, I became furious and clench my fist in anger

Where are you Melanie and why I'm I so restless and wishes to find you ". I thought to myself.
I've been restless for the past few days,Melani is just my personal maid and nothing else .but I've been restless after I discovered her disappearance from the palace.

"I wish to be alone". I told her.

With that, she came closer to me, but I felt nothing .the only thing in my mind was finding Melanie and knowing what is the secret she is hiding from me
I pushed queen talita away and got up. I left her in my chambers and went outside, the air outside was cool and peaceful.
I sent for my chief guard

"Can you tell me how Melanie left the palace under your watch "I asked

"she lied to my men that she was sent out to get things for the kitchen "
"And your stupid men couldn't detect something was wrong "I shouted
"Who were those guards in charge,bring them here ". I ordered
The thought of her leaving the palace got me angry and furious, and I must pour my anger on those men
