King Kia POV

"Repeat what you said ". I asked making sure what I heard was right

"He sent a message that he no longer need the land, but Melanie should be delivered unto him ".my chief guard announced

"Rubbish absolutely rubbish"I yelled in anger

"He has declared war on us and has threatened to attack another village if we don't deliver her unto him in the next three days "

I stood up from the throne with anger, how dare him threaten me.

"Any news about her ?" I asked

"No news, my lord ".

I hissed in anger and frustration and as I walk aimlessly in my Chambers.

It's been two days now and Melanie is nowhere to be found.

"Distribute two hundred warriors in each of the nine villages ".

"Yes my lord "

"Get some guard and search for Melanie in the bushes again ". I said those words with fear, what if she was dead of eaten by a wild animal or something.

"Search around the Forest and give me the feedback"

"Yes my lord ".

"You may leave ".

He bows his head in respect and left my Chambers.

Just as he left, queen kalika walked into my Chambers.

"Greetings my king".she greeted

I nod my head at her but did not say a word,

She stares at me for a while before she came closer to me.

"What troubles you my lord ".she asked while she gently massages my shoulder

I closed my eyes in relief as she gently and slowly massages my shoulder.

I closed my eyes and all I could think of was Melanie's hands on my legs, I remembered how good she was in massaging and I miss her touch.

I opened my eyes and signaled queen kalika to stop.

She stopped massaging me and stood in front of me.

"What troubles you ?".she asked while staring at me with curiosity.

"Nothing for you to worry about". I spoke firmly and stood up from the chair.

I walk up to the window and stared outside my Chambers, lost in thought.

I wasn't scared of his threats,, but I was scared and bothered about Melanie.

"My lord ". I felt kalika hands on my waist and her head or my back and I knew what she wanted,, but I wasn't in the mood for that.

I removed her hands from my waist and turned to face her.

"Not today, I'm not desiring things like this ". I spoke with irritation

"But my King ".she murmured, but I cut her off

"No kalika, not now, so many things are happening in the kingdom, and you should be bothered about it instead of thinking of things like this ". I muttered out in anger

She stared at me for a while before speaking up

"We all know why you are worried, you are not worried because of the kingdom, you are only worried because of Melanie". Kalika spoke in anger.

I stared at her confused and shock

"We all know why you are avoiding us and it all because of that stupid slave ".

Hearing those words from her, I felt anger run through my blood and I couldn't control it.

"Get out" I yelled in anger

"My king ".she tried speaking, but I shut her up

"Get out this very minutes " I spoke in so much anger that my voice echo in the room.

King kia POV

I groan in anger as I watch her leave the room.

How dare she calls Melanie a slave, I felt anger run through my blood and I had to calm myself down.

I sat on the couch and called out my personal guards.

"Yes my lord ".he knelled before me

"Get me the chief guard and chief maiden ". I demanded

"Yes, my king ". He stood up and left my Chambers.

In a few minutes the chief guard and maiden came in with their head down

"Greetings my king ".they greeted in Unison

I hissed before I spoke up

“When are we expecting our guest ?". I asked even when I knew the particular day

"In two days time my king ".the chief guard spoke up

"Is everything ready?". I asked

"Yes my lord, his room is ready and that of his servants ".the chief maiden spoke up

"You know who is he and everything must be perfect". I spoke firmly

"Yes my king everything is prepared perfectly for his stay ".the chief guard spoke up.

"Very good". I murmured and stood up from the chair.

"Should we send some men to him in his place of rest maybe to guard him ".the chief guard asked.

I chuckled at him words because he really did not know who this man his and the power he carries

"They will be no need for that, you can leave". I ordered and they both left my Chambers.

I left my room and walked to my varanda where I could see the whole palace and part of the Kingdom.

I watch maids and guards moving around busy with their activities and wondered if Melanie would have still been one of them if I didn't ask her to drink that night with me.

I hissed softly and went back to my room, I took up my cup and drank some red wine to calm my nerves when suddenly a memory flashed in my head, but it wasn't clear.

I became anxious and took another sip of the dream and tried to concentrate, but it wasn't working as I planned.

I drank all the wine in the cup before leaving my Chambers.

I left the Chambers and went to queen talita Chambers and saw her playing with Mara

"Papa". Mara exclaims happily as she notices my presence,

She left her mother and ran up to me and hugged me on my knees.

I chuckled softly and picked her up while I stared into her two sets of green eyes which reminds of Malik.

"How are you, my princess". I asked while I gently caressed her cheek

"I'm fine ".she giggled happily and went for my hair and started playing with it

"Mara, let go of to the king's head". Queen talita spoke up, but I signal her to let her be before speaking up,

"In as much as I am the king I'm also her father and she should be free with me ". I muttered out those words and smiled at mara who smiled back at me.

I kept mara down before walking towards queen Talita.

"Greetings my lord".she bows her head and smiled at me,

"Greetings my queen". I muttered out those words and took the available seat opposite her.

"Leave ".she ordered her servants, who left whatever they were doing and hurriedly left the room.

"What brother's you my king ?".she asked while staring at me with curiosity

This was the reason queen talita was my favorite wife because she understood and cares a lot about me.

"I'm fine, just the kingdom issues that has to be settled". I spoke firmly.

She stared at me and I knew she didn't believe what I said,, but she wouldn't ask questions because she doesn't want to anger me.

"You should take a day rest".she spoke up

"You and mara can go on a trip or something just to clear your head up ".she suggested

"Nice idea I'll think about it, thank you". I stood up from the chair and kissed her forehead before leaving the Chambers.

I left her Chambers and walked into the camp where the villagers were camped.

They all saw me and bows their head in respect. I stared around and met eyes with the green eye's boy who stared at me with a big smile on his face.

"Come ". I signaled my hand to him.

He giggled happily and ran up to me

"Good day my king ".he greeted happily

I smiled at him and gently stoke his ticket hair which looks just like mine and that of Mara

"God mother said I should thank you for giving me drugs when I was sick"

I smiled at him but didn't say a word

"Are you taking back to the palace again?" He asked which his two sets of green eyes that I find alluring and fascinating.

"Do you want to come ?" I asked while staring at him,

"Yes, I like your palace".he smiled shyly to me.

I gently raffle his hair and took hold of his hair,

"Let's go ". I hold his hand and he giggled happily and waved his hand at his godparents before we walk out of the camp.

"Are you hungry ?" I asked

"No, but I would love to eat at your palace".he murmured happily.

"You love the food in my palace ?" I asked

"Yes, they taste delicious different from the food I eat in the camp " he spoke childishly.

Hearing those words from him, I became and anxious And wanted to know what he has been eating all these days at the camp.

I took him into the palace, and we walked back to my garden,

"This is beautiful ". Malik exclaims happily and kept on running around the garden.

I sat on the stool and watch him play with his flower.

I noticed how his mother loved flowers,, and I wasn't surprised when I saw him behaving this way.

"Mom would have loved to be here ".he murmured and kept on inhaling the scent of the flower

I stared at him with a smile on my face, if only he knew his mother was once here.
