Chapter 2: Confrontation

"Is there something wrong, Jasmine?" When Jasmine returned to their table, Jessy asked her.
"Sorry, I suddenly felt pain in my stomach," Jasmine answered.
Because of what Jasmine had informed them, Jessy stood up.
"Is everything good with you, Jasmine? What caused your stomach to hurt all of a sudden?" Jessy inquired, her voice filled with concern.
"I don't know, Jessy," Jasmine replied.
"I just want to go home because I can't stand the pain any longer," Jasmine said as she clutched her tummy.
Jessy turned to face their companions.
"I'm sorry, but I accidentally shattered our bond. I'm just unable to tolerate the discomfort in my stomach any longer," Jasmine expressed her regrets to her friends.
They gave her a friendly smile.
"It's all right, Jasmine; the most important thing is that we've spent time here with you," one of her pals assured her.
"Do you mind taking me, Jessy?" Jasmine approached her and asked her a question.
"Sure, Jasmine, I am the one who carried you here," Jessy said in response to her question.
"How's it going, fellas? Let's meet again later, and please accept my sincere apologies." Jasmine kissed her friends on the cheek and waved farewell.
Jessy and Jasmine left the restaurant through the front door. Jasmine was cautious not to draw Kendrick's attention away from her when flirting with another woman.
Jessy was utterly oblivious to what was taking place. She stands at Jasmine's side as they leave the restaurant.
Jessica jumped in and started the engine when they got into the car.
"Jasmine, do you mind if I take you to the hospital? Perhaps you're experiencing symptoms differently, perhaps as a result of your condition?" Jessy confided in Jasmine that she was worried.
Jasmine sighed and closed her eyes, then looked at her best friend with a knowing smile.
When Jessy noticed Jasmine's sad expression, she decided to slow down the car's speed.
"Jasmine, what exactly happened? What is it about you that makes you look so depressed? "She inquired of Jasmine, her voice full of curiosity.
"I saw Kendrick," Jasmine said, her voice breaking.
"Did you happen to see Kendrick? You told me that he had a meeting, didn't you?" Jessy approached her and asked her.
"Yes, Jessy, but I saw her at the restaurant we came from, and he is with another woman!" Jasmine said, nodding her head.
Because of what Jasmine stated, Jessy abruptly halted in the car.
"What?! Kendrick is with another woman?!" Jessy looked at Jasmine with bemusement.
Jasmine took a deep breath and lowered her head.
"...and you have not even tried to confront your husband, Jasmine?! You just saw Kendrick flirting with another woman, didn't you?" she asked more.
"We'll be back!" Jessy suggested to her.
Jasmine shook her head, and she grabbed her hand.
"I'm sorry, Jessy, but I don't want to cause a commotion. All I'll do is talk to Kendrick when he gets back home, "Jasmine shared her thoughts with her best friend.
"We've told you, Jasmine, that Kendrick will not do anything right! You didn't take our warning seriously!" Jessy remarked this with a tone of anger in her voice.
"Jessy, I don't want you to have a terrible impression of me. First and foremost, I must confirm what I indeed witnessed. I will have a long conversation with him, "Jasmine informed him.
"Are you serious about this, Jasmine? All you have to do now is divorce Kendrick as soon as possible! He hasn't done right about you!" Jessy inquired and remarked to her.
In response, Jasmine nodded and said, "I love him."
It was because of what Jasmine told her that Jessy got struck in the forehead.
"I know you love your husband very much, but if that's what the man you adore is doing, Jasmine, you'll only end up hurting yourself even more! There are many more men in the world than him. That makes you happy!" she received a response from Jessy.
"He's the only one I've got on me now, Jessy. My entire world has revolved around him because of his presence in my life! "Jasmine addressed her in this way.
"So, if my hunch is accurate, I will attempt to resolve the situation; however, if I am incorrect, I will make sure that Kendrick will not do that to me," Jasmine said.
"Don't be ridiculous, Jasmine! When a man makes a mistake, even if he expresses regret to you, he will continue to do what he originally did!" Jessy addressed him directly in a loud voice.
"If I'm with you when you discover your suspicions were correct, you should leave him! Remember that there are still people out there who are willing to accompany you through life; don't let them cause you too much pain just because you are in love with that man! "She went on to say more.
"It's easy to say that because you haven't had the opportunity to experience true love, Jessy. You despise all men because you believe they are cheaters, so you have never had a husband!" Jasmine reprimanded her best friend in front of everyone.
"Because that is the truth of the matter, Jasmine. No man takes himself seriously, and every man is a liar!" Jessy had a resounding response for her.
Jasmine is well aware of what transpired between Jessy and herself.
She had been in love with a man, but he had also hurt her at the end of the day. Since then, Jessy has come to believe that men cheat because they are dissatisfied with their wives or lovers.
"Just know that I have made up my mind that I will speak with Kendrick and find out the truth and that if there is a misunderstanding, I will do everything I can to make things right," Jasmine stated.
Jessy's confidence had been shattered by what her best friend had said.
"No matter what you're thinking, Jasmine, always keep in your mind that I'm just a few feet away, right behind you. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require assistance." Jessy has a grudge against Jasmine.
She smiled at her best friend, saying, "Thank you, Jessy, because I know that you will always be at my side," Jasmine said.
The car started again as Jessy grumbled and got into it to drive Jasmine to their house.
When Jasmine returned home, she thanked Jessy for her assistance before departing.
When Jessy left, she went straight into the house and into the room where she exchanged his dress would take place. Having dressed, she settled into her bed and reflected on what she had witnessed earlier in the evening.
Because of her thoughts about her husband, Jasmine couldn't sleep well that night.
When she left his room, Kendrick had not yet come because it was late morning.
She had just finished preparing lunch with their maid.
She could not eat the food properly because of what she witnessed last night. Her thoughts were jumbled, and she desperately wanted to speak with Kendrick, but she received no response when she contacted him earlier.
After eating, he went to the garden to get some fresh air. Nevertheless, whatever he does, what he witnessed last night will be in his memory forever.
Kendrick arrived at their home at six o'clock in the evening. Unlike before, when he came home from work, he had a severe expression as if contemplating something important.
"How did your meeting go yesterday?" Jasmine inquired as they were both eating dinner.
Kendrick turned to gaze at Jasmine.
Her amazement heightened when Kendrick said, "We'll speak about what you witnessed last night later."
To put it another way, Kendrick saw him at the restaurant the night before and did absolutely nothing. And he chose not to return home, preferring to spend time with the woman with him?
Jasmine was deafeningly quiet due to what Kendrick had said to her.
They immediately walked to their room after finishing their meal, discussing the previous night's events that Jasmine had witnessed.
Kendrick double-checked that the door was locked as they entered the room before turning to face Jasmine.
"Can you tell me what I saw last night, Kendrick?" Jasmine asked her husband the question right away.
"Whatever you're thinking about, Jasmine, I'll tell you you're correct," Kendrick assured her.
Jasmine's heart pounded in her chest due to what Kendrick had said. She had a clear idea of what he intended to say.
It hurts to realize that the person you love has fallen in love with someone else.
"Kendrick, what exactly happened? I know you're just baffled about yourself, but I also know how much you adore me, and you know how much I love you!" Jasmine stated with a stammering voice.
"For almost three years, Jasmine, I've been forced to love you, and I thought that when you gave me a child, I'd love you completely. But that's not what happened; you can't afford to give me a child!" Kendrick responded to her question.
Because of what she had just heard, Jasmine's eyes widened.
"What do you mean that you forced me to love me? Have you tried to fall in love with me? Kendrick, what exactly do you mean? I think you love me so much, don't you?" Jasmine reinforced his suspicions.
Kendrick shook his head in disbelief because of what Jasmine had told him.
"I proposed to you and married you because you are the owner of The Diamond Agency, not because you are a beautiful, kind, or woman. You're probably familiar with what I'm talking about, aren't you? I married you to be in charge of the Diamond Agency!" Kendrick comes clean with him.
Jasmine was unable to talk due to what Kendrick had said to her. No way in the world could she believe that was his original plan all along!
Her emotions so consumed her that she failed to recognize the game he was playing!
"Tell me that you're just kidding me!" please, Kendrick. Inform me that you genuinely love me!" It's hard for her to believe what Kendrick told her.
"Jasmine, you are correct in what you thought. I tried to love you, but it didn't work out. "Kendrick responded to her message.
"The fact is that if you had been able to give me a child, I might have changed my feelings and my decision; nevertheless, you are unable to do so," He said more.
"Jasmine, I've been looking forward to seeing you for over three years. I hoped you would give me a kid for the better three years, but that did not happen. My patience was wearing thin, so I decided to meet Sarah, a woman I knew who might be able to give me a child. After meeting Sarah, I knew I would be with her for the rest of my life!" Kendrick's final statement.
Jasmine couldn't help but experience more discomfort. Kendrick's eyes welled up with tears as she looked him in the eyes.
"Did you make that decision, Kendrick?" Jasmine fumbled her question to him.
"Yes! You are correct. I'm sorry, but I won't give you my love! "Kendrick responded to her question.
" If that is the case, I will file for divorce on our behalf so that you can be happy with Sarah," Jasmine explained.
"No! I'm not interested in getting divorced!" Kendrick responded very instantly.
Jasmine was taken aback by what he had to say.
"What exactly do you mean? Shouldn't you be happy that you'll be able to spend more time with your other woman?" Jasmine approached him and asked him a question.
"I will only agree to the divorce if you hand over the Diamond Agency to me!"
