CHAPTER 19 I KIND OF missed Leo when he wasn’t around. There, I admitted it. He’d grown on me and gone from one of those annoying bits of lint you want to flick off to that comfy sweater you want to curl up in when you get home. And he made me pancakes for breakfast. But each morning, he drove off to the gym, leaving me alone in a house far too big for one person. Not that I wasted the time. I used the little gym at the house, watched Liquidity, and sometimes I even braved the pool. Oh, and I finally found a use for that ski equipment. “Can you buy me a bicycle inner tube?” I asked Leo on his way out one day. “But you don’t have a bike?” “No, I’m making a pole spear.” “A what?” “For fishing.
