My Wife, My Choice

AE's POV... "What are we doing here?" I asked when we finally reached the garden where our supposed wedding will be held. "Well, we are here to remind you of our deal. That you will marry me." he said with a devilish smile. "But I already told you...there will be no wedding." I said, irritated. Then I stomp my feet as I walk back to the mansion. I was suddenly stopped when someone grabbed my hand. "What are you doing?" I asked, confused of what this bipolar jerk is doing. He just silently grabbed my hand and led me back walking towards the aisle, to the altar, where we were supposed to give our 'I do's'. Then he stopped and looked at me. "I definitely don't know what I'm doing right now! I don't even know why I'm here! I don't even know what I'm saying! But all I know is that it feels right to marry you, AE. And so I want you to remember that my wife is my choice!" he said firmly, just staring at me. "Don't you ever push me to someone! Don’t ever tell me who to marry. And don't make decisions for me! Whatever you saw earlier...it's all in the past. Now, what you see here is ME and YOU...and I want you to remember that this...here...right now...is the PRESENT...and hopefully...the FUTURE…again, my wife, my choice…and I choose you, Anica Elaine Adams." I felt then that tears started to drop from my eyes. He wiped them with his thumb and embraced me. Then, he kissed my forehead. "There's no backing out now. I've already agreed to marry you. And I will honor my word. We had a deal. We promised to try and see how life would be in the next two years with each other. Together. And you've agreed to marry me. Period." he said firmly. Then he held my chin and lead me to look at him in the eye. "You, Anica Elaine a.k.a AE Adams, you alone...will become my only Mrs. Austin James Martin...my Mrs. Martin..." I nodded my head and he smiled warmly. This is the first time that he really smiled genuinely at me. He again kissed my forehead and started to change my direction. "Now, off you go and rest." he said, slowly pushing me towards the mansion. And when we reached the door, he inserted his hands to his pocket. "See you later, Mrs. Martin." he said and left. All my nerves were screaming. I felt so happy. Truly happy. *** "I now pronounce you, husband and wife." the preacher declared and everyone clapped. "You may now kiss the bride." I suddenly felt butterflies in my stomach as he uncovered my face when he lifted up the veil. I blushed when he looked at me. Then his face slowly bends down getting closer to mine. I closed my eyes anticipating the kiss that would seal this marriage. He gave me a peck on my cheek and then brushed his lips in mine. I closed my eyes. Then, his kiss deepens. I longed for this to happen. My first kiss! The crowd cheered on us and he slowly parted his lips from mine as he stared at my face. I am definitely crimson red now. Then he kind of woke from his reverie and quickly stood up and faced the crowd encircling his hand around my waist. I smiled widely as I look at him and he smiled back. Then we turned to the crowd. We gave a small bow and they applauded. "Let’s all welcome, Mr. and Mrs. Martin!" I smiled widely. Then I look at Austin. He was also smiling brightly. We were both shaking people’s hands when I caught him staring at me. Then for a moment, I think I see him looking at me like he really loves me. Like I am admiringly precious. Is that for real? He shifted his gaze away. Maybe I was just so happy thinking we're married. My imagination works fast. At the reception, we were asked to have our wedding night dance, slice the cake and entertain our visitors. All the while I am looking at him, observing his reaction. If I didn't know that he just married me for business interest, I would believe that he is really happy about marrying me. He laughs with the guests and talks to them really well. Then, I felt a warm hand on my shoulder. "So, how are you feeling now, sweetie?" Dad asked. "Or should I call you now, Mrs. Martin?" I laughed and hugged him. "Oh, Dad!" I said sweetly. "Thank you!" "I can see that you are really happy. I have never seen that for many years." he said with tears of joy. "I really made a good decision in letting you marry him, didn't I?" "Yes, Dad! Thank you." I said and wiped his tears. "Don't cry please. I don't want you ruining my make up." "Okay, fine." he said kissed my forehead. "You, young lady, are a woman now and you looked so beautiful today. You are the most beautiful bride I have ever laid my eyes on. So just be yourself and be happy, sweetie. I love you." "I love you, too" I said almost choking. "Thank you very much, Dad." I smiled and enjoyed myself the rest of the night. There are some things that had bothered me but I didn't really mind. I don't want to destroy the evening. *** "Happy?" Austin asked as we were having our so called 'last dance' for our wedding night. "Yes." I answered sweetly. "You?" "Very." he answered and I automatically blushed. He smirked. "You like me that much, Mrs. Martin?" I rolled my eyes and pinched him on his side. "Hey, W=what's that for?" he asked chuckling. Then he winked at me. This man really loves pissing me off. So, I deliberately stepped on his foot with my heels. "Ouch!" he hissed, wincing in pain and people started to look at us. "Oh my...dear, are you okay?" I ask sarcastically, acting to be all concerned. "I'm sorry…" "It's okay..." he said with gritted teeth, forcing a fake smile. I smirked with my victory and put out my tongue to make face. So then he moved closer to me tightening his grip on my waist. I can feel his warm breath behind my ear. Then he kissed it ever so gently and I felt chills all over my body. "Let’s see who wins later in bed, wifey." he whispered to my ear seductively. My whole body stiffened and he carefully gave our bodies some distance. He then smirked seeing how blood rushed up to my face. I glared at him sharply. He made a devilish grin and then led us back to our seat. After a while, people are still busy dancing and having stories. And I am busy annoying my dear husband. "Congratulations!" a sweet voice said. I turned around and see the most angelic face I have ever seen. She looks so pretty in her simple cocktail dress. And she was smiling at us. Little did she know that I can see the hurt in her eyes. It’s her. "Congratulations!" the old man beside her said. "Thanks..." we both said and they shook our hands. I glance at Austin and I saw that he became tensed upon seeing them. His eyes turned cold and his face blank. "By the way, I'm Iza…Austin's..." she said pausing for a while. "friend..." "Hi, I'm AE…thanks for coming..." I said, trying to sound polite. "This is Pop, my grandfather." she said. The old man nodded at me and I slightly smiled. “Nice to meet you, Sir.” “My pleasure too.” Pop said and smiled genuinely. “Austin is like the grandson I never had and I am happy to see that he is finally happy. He went through a lot, my dear. So be sure to take care of him.” “Thank you. And absolutely. I will definitely take good care of him.” I answered honestly. "AE…do you mind if I talk to your husband for a moment?" Iza asked. I stared at her for a while and shifted my gaze to Austin. He didn't say anything. He didn't agree nor object. So I assumed, he agreed. "No problem. It's fine with me. Go ahead." I eventually said and tried to locate Alyssa. "Let me just join the other guests then." And I politely exited. I went straight to where my Mom-in-law and Alyssa is. "Hi, dear. Enjoying the night?" Mrs. Martin asked. "Yes, Mrs. Martin." I answered. "Hey, I'm your mother now." she complained. "From now on, call me 'Mom'" "Oh." I reacted. "Why, is there a problem?" she asked. "No. Not at all. I just never had the chance to call anyone 'M-Mom'…" I said with teary eyes. "...ever since my mother left us." I always get sensitive with that subject and I hate it. "Oh, dear! I'm sorry." she said and embraced me. "Now, I'll be your Mom." "Thanks..." I said, hesitantly. "M..M-mom..." And she hugged me more tightly. "Group hug!" Alyssa yelled as she joined us. "Stop crying! You're ruining your make up!" "Oh, yeah!" I abruptly said and gently patted on my face to wipe my tears and smiled. "Much better, sister!" Alyssa said. “We’re officially sisters!!!!!!” We chatted for a while and I glance back to check on Austin but he's no longer there. I looked around and see my father-in-law talking with Pop, Iza's grandfather. I sighed. "Where's your husband anyway?" Alyssa asked. "That stupid brother of mine. Does he know that leaving his wife alone on their wedding night party is a bad luck?" "Really?" I asked with my eyes wide. "No. Just kidding." she said. I let out a sigh of relief. "You know what, let’s go to the restroom. You need a retouch." she suggested. "Okay. Fine." I agreed. After retouching my make up, we made our way out of the restroom and passed on the other way going back to the garden. We were about to reach the venue when I heard some voices in the hallway. "Alyssa. Go on first. I just need to check on something." I say and she nodded. As soon as I saw her go away. I slowly walked through the hallway reaching the source of the voices. My heart pounded wildly as I saw Austin and Iza, talking. "Believe me…I really didn't mean to hurt you before...please.." she pleaded with tears in her eyes. "Just let me explain." "I don't need any of your explanations now." Austin said with a very cold voice. His side view facing me so I can't see his eyes. "You've already hurt me enough, Iza." Pang of jealousy overtook me and I know that this is hurting me too but I continued, listening. Am I a sadist? No, I am just a curious human being wanting to know what this girl and my husband is talking about. Right. So I stayed, listening. "Sorry…" Iza said again looking at Austin. "Austin, I loved you...and I still do...I still love you very much." Then, I gasp as I saw the next thing she did. She kissed him. On the lips! What is wrong with this woman? They love each other! I waited. I waited for Austin to push her or stop her. But he didn't do anything. This i***t! I wiped the tears that silently poured down from my eyes. And then I just found myself, walking towards them. Then Austin pushed her away upon hearing my footsteps. He turned and was shocked to see me. I rush my steps and held my head high as I stand in between them, facing Iza. "How dare you?!!!" I hissed and slapped her face hard. "How dare you confess your love and kiss my husband…on my wedding day!!?" She held her face hard as she looked so guilty. “I’m so sorry.” That must have hurt pretty badly! "Leave now." I said coldly staring at her. "And never show your face to me again." "Sorry." she repeated as she wiped her tears away and hurriedly left. Then, I turned around and face the jerk. I slapped him hard too. Then I started to cry. His side of face was so red but he didn’t say anything. "She kissed you!" I hissed, crying. "And you didn't do anything!" "I…I was...surprised..." he said meeting my gaze. “I’m truly sorry, AE.” "Surprised!?" I yelled, pissed off. "You didn't even push her!!!!" "I'm sorry...I...I... just...you...don't understand..." he said apologetically as he tried to comfort me. “Sorry. I’m sorry.” But I'm just so hurt! "You're right!" I hissed. "I don't understand…and I will never understand!" And I stormed out, leaving him. *** This man is really something! How can he make me feel so loved at one time and do the exact opposite after a blink of an eye? This bipolar Baboon! I don't know how we managed to stay civil as we said our goodbyes to our last guests and our parents. I am still so pissed off knowing he kissed another woman on our wedding day...my wedding day...I sighed out my frustration. No, not pissed but deeply hurt. And now, we're currently seated in my bridal car going to his private airport. Well, he has one. We also have it but he insists to use his private plane as he is the man according to him. I immediately stepped out of the car once it stopped when we reached our destination. B1 and B2 immediately escorted me to the private plane all the while as I continued to glare at Austin. Austin sat beside me and was about to talk to me. But then I rolled my eyes and I immediately put on my head phones and closed my eyes upon sitting on the plane. I don't have the time for any kind of conversation. I needed to cool down, I'm hurting. ***
