Chapter Fifteen Kate was quivering from head to toe by the time they got back to the hotel. Darius had make it perfectly clear where he stood and what he wanted. It was what she wanted too, with every fiber of her being. But when she reached the room, she found a message on the hotel phone. Cotton and Bryant had been trying to reach her; apparently her cell phone had been off the entire time they’d been at dinner. She’d been so wrapped up in their conversation that she hadn’t even noticed the lack of texts or calls. The phone call with the associate who’d be handling the deposition took over an hour. At some point, Darius disappeared into his room, and when she was done, she tiptoed to the door and peered in. He lay sprawled on the bed in a twisted tangle of bed sheets and long limbs.
