Around nightfall, an explosion near the house woke Shane and Mia up. “Get dressed, stay down.” He said getting out of bed, he quickly put on his clothes and went into his room. “Come on, we need to get out of here.”
“Shane what about my dad?” she said looking towards the window. “We cannot leave him to fight this alone.”
“We’re not, you are getting out of here. I will find your Dad, and we will find you.” He said pulling her towards the back of the house. “I don’t want you to get hurt, please run into the woods and stay there until I find you.” He said pushing her out the door, he ran the other way.
