Raven looked back at the wolf, trying to decide what to do, then dropped to her knees. Her brothers followed her example, and they all bowed their heads down. "Please, I beg of you let us pass or grant us sanctuary! Our mother risked her life to help us escape from our den. My name is Raven, and these are my brothers Kai and Koe." She looked up with tears in her eyes. "Please, we have nothing to offer."
She heard more thundering of paws as four more wolves showed up, one even bigger than the other three. Her eyes widened. She watched the sandy colored wolf turn into a woman and saw the male bow his head to her. "Beta Andrea, I found these three here while patrolling. They are asking for sanctuary."
She watched Andy turn around as a warrior handed her a long t-shirt, and she slipped it on. She walked over to them, and Raven lowered her head again. "Please Beta Andrea, can you help us? Even if you can give us some food and bottles of water. We'll be on our way. We won't cause any trouble."
Raven looked back at her brothers, seeing their heads down, and huddled close to each of her sides. She had never seen a werewolf before, but she had read books about them. "You don't happen to come from the Shadow Den, do you?" the woman asked. She panicked almost instantly, biting her bottom lip to keep from crying. They were going to send them back. They knew who they were. She reached back to take her brothers' hands, holding them tightly, mindlinking them. 'Run when I say to. Go as far as you can, and don't look back. Don't come back for me, just go'
She looked back up at Andy with a nod. "Well, you aren't the first from that Den to request sanctuary, and probably won't be the last. How about we take you up to the pack house, and get you some food? Perhaps a nice shower, and fresh clothes? Our Alpha will accept you here. He's a bit of an old fart, but he's a good guy. I promise you that you are safe here with us."
Relief instantly washed over her. They had somewhere they could stay for a while and get something to eat. They could possibly get a good night's sleep, and even help to get to a permanent place to stay. "Thank you, Beta Andrea, we are forever in your debt." She got up to her feet with her brothers, tears rolling down her face.
Andy motioned for them to follow her, and they started to walk. Her brothers kept close to her side. " Hope you don't mind, it's about a fifteen-minute walk to the road where the cars are waiting. The pack is very big, and our Alpha would love to meet you once you have eaten and showered. He understands how taxing this must be for you, but you will have a choice to stay here if you wish. If you are not comfortable here, he has allies with other packs."
Raven walked beside Andy listening to her speaking. "Honestly, Beta Andrea, as long as we are safe and our den won't find us, we will do whatever your Alpha wishes. How do you know about our den?"
Andy let out a soft chuckle. "I like you already, Raven, and please call me Andy. I feel like you and I are going to be great friends. I'll explain further in the car." They walked until they came to a road with a van. Andy slid open the door and motioned for them to get in. She watched her brothers get in the back together, and she slid in beside them as the door closed.
A warrior just wearing shorts climbed into the passenger seat, and Andy started the van, driving it towards their pack. They passed through a small town with many shops, restaurants, and even a theater. Then they passed a village with what looked to be hundreds of different houses and cottages. They had never seen anything like it before. Both of her brothers were up against the window looking out. "This is our town. You can come here to do just about anything you want. There are different kinds of restaurants, even an arcade, but there is an arcade up at the pack house if you would prefer to stay indoors for a bit."
Raven looked over at Andy with curiosity. "So how did you know about our den?"
Andy let out a soft chuckle, keeping her eyes on the road as they drove through the town toward the pack house. "You aren't the first Kitsune to show up here asking for sanctuary. We've actually had quite a few from Shadow Den show up throughout the years. Some were worse than others, and most have decided to stay here. The cruelty in your den is frowned upon by our Alpha. In fact, our pack was once similar when his father was in reign, but Alpha Rubeus put a stop to that when he challenged his father and killed him for the title. Our pack has been better ever since. It was a couple of hundreds years ago, or so I'm told anyway. It's all written in the library if you would like to read about it."
Her eyes widened in surprise listening to Andy talk about others being here of her kind. "I've only read of your kind from books. I've never met a wolf before, and it said you were all cruel." She looked out the window. "I could see what we read was wrong." She saw a beautiful castle come into view with a wolf fountain up front. They pulled up front and Andy got out, coming around to open the door. "This looks like a castle from a fairy tale!"
Andy chuckled softly, motioning for them to come out. "It looks even better inside, I promise. It's an amazing place to live, but just outside of town we have houses for all our omegas. Of course, the higher ranked wolves live in the pack house. You will be staying here for now, until we can help you find a house you like for you and your brothers, of course. Welcome to the Red River pack. Hopefully you will stay with us."
Raven and her brothers went out, looking up at the castle. She looked over at her brothers, both nodding in agreement. They would not be leaving. They already liked this pack. It felt like home. She couldn't explain why it felt that way, it just did. She had a small smile on her face as she took a deep breath in, and then out. She finally felt like she was at home.
