Vivi pushed through the door of Mile High Grounds out into the chilly autumn morning. She and Heath had stopped here for coffee this morning. He’d headed out a few minutes ahead of her for a meeting on a new job. He was putting together the blueprints for a housing complex. He wouldn’t start building until next spring, but the planning was on track. She took a sip of coffee and crossed the street to her car. She rarely drove into town, but today she was going to one of her regular jobs to prep their flowerbeds before winter set in and plant a few more perennials.
