Tea time felt awkward.
Isabella wasn't watching the woman sitting across her. She was thinking. Thinking of what to talk about with her, thinking about why she invited her in for tea-is that how rich people treat their new drivers? From the movies she watched in the past, she never saw anyone invite them in for tea, they mostly ask questions when they were driving them around, infact most of the times spent between a Chaffeur and his boss was inside the car.
" You have a lovely house" Ciara began, looking around the place. If she was gonna befriend this woman, it's not by feeling awkward and sipping hot tea till it was time to leave.
Isabella blinked, and the Past look on her face vanished away, " Yes, thank you. Where do you live? "
Ciara has got it all covered, " I have an apartment at Cross streets" she replied smoothly.
" Family? Or do you live alone? "
" I wanted to be independent so I left Toronto for new Jersey. I'm all on my own. "
" I hope the struggle wasn't too much" Isabella asked with concern. She had been there before, so she definitely knew how it felt, mostly when you have two more people to take care of aside yourself.
" No ma'am. I got by just fine. Thank you for accepting for the job once again. I promise you won't regret it"
" If you don't mind me asking, how old are you Clara? "
" I will be twenty eight in the next few months"
Hmm, they were almost the same age. " What Month?"
" May"
" Date?"
" Seventeenth"
" Woah, I'm also May but eighteenth!"
" Same age as me?"
" Yup"
" Awww, but the dates were so close"
They both laughed heartily.
It's like the tension between them miraculously died down, and in no time both women were chatting like they had been friends for a very long time. Isabella felt safe around her, and Ciara was happy. She thought she would have to befriend her just to carry out her mission, but with this nature of hers, she would become her friend even without a mission. They talked about many things, coming to understand that they had Lots of things in common. Isabella still had that feeling lurking somewhere, but right now she was mostly concentrating on the funny story Ciara was telling her. The last time she had laughed so hard with a friend of hers was way back.
The feeling was extraordinary, and it was as if she wanted to remain in that state of freedom forever, just chatting and laughing away.
The two women forgot how time flew so fast that it was almost midnight. The tea had gone cold, but Isabella didn't realize that. She extended her hands reflexively and grabbed the handle of the tea cup when something happened. Pain suddenly shot up through her wrist, and it felt as if something was gripping her there.
The tea cup fell from her hands and shattered on the floor, while Bella groaned in pain.
Ciara quickly dropped to her side, a little panic running through her as she began to access what was wrong. She grabbed the arm that was hurting and stared deeply into it. Dang it she can't do anything like this.
" Let me check your temperature" she lied, her palm then flew and covered both Isabella's forehead and eyes and she used that opportunity to transform the color of her eyes to Dark blue. Her wolf senses took over completely, and now that she looked at the arm again...she could clearly see what was wrong.
Her wrist had two lines running around it, so small they can't be seen with ordinary eyes. She was able to figure out that it was caused by something that was wrapped around her wrist...like a watch, or bracelet or something.
Goosebumps. Ciara snapped her vision towards a particular direction. Adrian was right as usual, there's something unusual happening in the house, and as if now there was a Familiar, yet unfamiliar aura coming from a certain room upstairs.
Ciara then changed back to normal, and looked down at the woman who was no longer struggling with the pain. It seems she had already passed out. Knowing that James was still in his room, Ciara picked up Bella in her arms and took her straight to her room...Also shocked to realize that the ominous aura was also coming from that same room.
Ciara walked in and placed isa on the bed, then proceeded to the object that was causing this. She knew it felt familiar, because she's once come across it many years ago... but unfamiliar since it wasn't just a single aura it was giving off this time like before.
Ciara uncovered the vase, and stared at the bracelet underneath it. The stones that had been used to make the bracelet weren't ordinary ones. There were five Yellow crescents that were used to ward off witches, four Zenon stones found in the forbidden areas and a blue stone which was a little bigger than the rest.
The blue stone was the one she had never seen before.
Zenon stones are considered even more dangerous than silver to werewolves, as they were capable of hindering wolf abilities for some time when it's touched. It was a very dangerous object to all werewolves out there.
Zenon and crescents have no effect on human, so they can't be the one causing Alexa pain. The blue one was the one affecting her right now, but as far as she knew...None of these stones should be having any sort of effect on any humans.
And Alexa is human.
She is...yet she heard her from a distance this morning.
That doesn't adds up.
Ciara stood up and walked back to the woman who was breathing soundly on the bed. Using her Powers once more, she was able to tell that the effect of the bracelet was gone, but she has no idea if it would come back. The question she should be asking herself right now was where she had gotten this bracelet, or worse- if someone had given it to her.
Ciara sighed, taking her seat right behind her newly found friend. This was just her first day watching her, and this much has already happened. What would then happen when everything finally unfolds?
She spent the rest of night there with Isabella, looking after her till morning arrived. Once she saw Bella stretching and about to wake up, she opened the window and jumped out.
Bella sat up on the bed, looking around. She would have sworn there was someone sitting across the bed just a minute ago. She rubbed her wrist without even knowing, then proceeded to get up from bed when she saw a piece of paper sitting on her table.
' It's Ciara. I don't know if you remember, but you fainted last night and I brought you back to your room. I hope you feel better This morning!'
Normally, it usual takes about five minutes for the events of what happened to return back to her. She would normally be in the bathroom brushing, and suddenly remember what happened the night before. But, not today.
She remembered everything the instant she finished reading what was written.
####################################
" So you had a lead all these while?" Adrian stood on the stairs, staring down at his guest that now that his eyes glued to a newspaper he was reading.
" I did. Why?" Zach replied with the cold empty face as usual. He didn't even take his eyes off the paper.
" Why? Why didn't you tell me??"
" Did you ask me to tell you?"
Adrian wanted to punch his face so badly. Something as serious as this shouldn't be kept by him, he should have said something from the minute he started living here, but he just shuts up and watches everything. The only time Zach gets in his way is when he leaves for a blood rampage.
" Did I have to?" Adrian gritted his teeth. Ugh!
" You had to. Asking for help is Vital. You can't do everything on your own"
God-damnit this man was gonna make him lose his s**t, " So that's why you decided to keep your mouth shut, huh?"
" Yes" Zach replied simply.
" You never change"
" Look who's talking "
" Sebastian is still there right?"
Zach shrugged a little. That indicated the end of their conversation.
" I almost forgot you're useless when it comes to conversations" Adrian shook his head in Dissapointment. Dissapointed in himself for almost forgetting that trying to talk to this man was futile. He's always wondered how they were now able to understand each other without too much words being said. He also wasn't much of a talker, except when that woman was involved.
He slightly trembled again, recalling what he had done the last time they had been together.
Anyways, he wouldn't bother himself too much with her. His plane tickets were already ready, and he would set off tomorrow to the place once again. If what he was looking for was really there, then he must have been wasting his time here.
Tch! If only Zach had spoken sooner! That silent unpredictable man!
He got back to his room and decided to take a cold shower admist the cold weather. He needed this.
No, he had warned himself several times not to think about her. He would not think about her, he would focus on finding and killing the enemy, and wouldn't care what he has to sacrifice along the way. That was how he always did things.
He was the bad guy. He's done bad things.
His hands were soaked with the blood of thousands, and up till this second he hasn't regretted any of it.
He doesn't cares. He gains, and many lose.
He's a heartless beast. He's crushed several hearts in that palm of his, he's bursted out internal organs, he's tortured people in the most brutal way ever. He's done so many things, so so many.
He's never cared.
Then...Why does he trembles whenever he looks down at his palm and remember how he had almost killed her? He doesn't has an answer to that.
