Illusions

1493 Words

Bella When I am almost at the border, I feel a slight tug on my bond. It’s enough to make me stop and look around. I know that it was my mom, but I can’t see her anywhere and it feels like it’s a very long way off. Should I go back? She must have come through with Dad. I knew for a fact he wouldn’t stay behind. I don’t think that’s a great idea. These guys are after me, but if I tug back, I can wait for her on the other side of the border. We have practiced this a million times, and tugging back is second nature. It’s how we all keep track of each other when we are out and about unless we are too far, and then we end up with calls to check on us. As alarmed as I already am, I am now even more alarmed because even though I feel her, I can’t seem to answer her. What the f**k is going on?
