Chapter Three:Traveling always made her lose count of the days. Given the opportunity, Dandelion would have spent most days lounging about, sleeping. The night, on the other hand, was her time to shine. All manner of mischief came to pass under cover of darkness. Her profession dictated that, no matter how many people she helped, someone considered her actions as malevolent. One man’s villain was another’s hero—there was no winning this game of life. Darkness offered two other advantages. When the daylight retreated, the biting flies did as well. Of course, all manner of other bloodsuckers took their place, but something about the swarms of relenting flies overwhelmed the sanity of a weak mind.
