Mrs. Romano made the introductions when this absolutely stunning girl stood up and reached out her hand for Dane. Not to shake, but for him to kiss.
“Hello, I’m Stef Rivera. I have heard great things about you.” She was obviously flirting openly and unashamedly. Her parents, who were sitting beside her, were smiling approvingly at Dane.
I was waiting for Dane to make his move, and I got nervous when he reached for her hand. But instead of moving her hand up for him to kiss, he shook it once before releasing it. The ‘girl’ frowned in dismay and sat back down right away.
I was saying ‘girl’ because she looked like… someone of my age. Or maybe even younger. I sighed internally as I felt disappointed in Dane’s mom. She was accusing me of being her son’s sugar baby when she was off
