“Oh, wow! Congratulations! I knew it wouldn’t take long before you two would have a baby. I’m so happy for the two of you!” Jan was squealing in delight when I told her I was already pregnant with Dane’s baby.
It would seem odd to people around us for me to be pregnant right away as it was not long ago when I was hired as his personal assistant. That would mean people would be thinking we were already jumping on each other’s bones when we met, which was true.
I couldn’t help if people would talk behind our backs. Dane was telling me to just let them talk. It was all that. Just talk. And nothing would do to hurt me as long as we know we were not doing anything wrong. We loved each other and that was all that mattered.
