Chapter Eighteen

*Wyatt's POV*
It's been two days since I watched Leah leave. I have this feeling like she is in trouble. I sent the vampire to check on her a day ago, but I have not heard back from him either. I am on edge. I know I can go to the edge of their pack lands and ask to meet with the Alpha, but I don't think that would do any good. The Alphas daughter should have made it back a month or so ago to talk to him. I never heard from her again. Deep in my thoughts I don't hear the vampire approach until he speaks to me.
"We have a problem. Your mate can't get out and she has some kind of collar on her. You are going to have to see if you can work something out with the Alpha or go to war with this pack to break her out." He speaks to me.
"I will try meeting with the Alpha first. If that doesn't work, I will go back to my pack and also contact Leahs parents. I am sure they would be willing to help rescue her. Thank you for your help. You can stay if you want, or I can track you down when this is over to help you find your wife."
"I want to see how this unfolds, but I won't get into the middle of this."
"That is fine with me. Hopefully I will be back before too long." I speak and head to the border of the pack lands.
It is about a 3-mile hike to get to the pack land borders. Once their guards come out to meet me. There are three of them.
One of them speaks up. "What business do you have here?"
"I am here to speak to your Alpha." I say back to him.
He gets on a radio, and I hear him ask for the Alpha to come and meet me. I wait in silence near the gates with the guards near me. I wait for about 20 minutes before the gates open and a man walks out. I am confused because this is not the Alpha that I met.
"You must be Wyatt." He says with a sly tone.
"Who are you? I have met your Alpha before, you are not him."
"I took over for my father a couple weeks back now, since I found my Luna."
I let out a growl. "She is MY mate. Not yours."
"You are wrong. She is both of our mate. She chose me."
"From what I heard from an informant you are holding her against her will. I suggest you release her before you cause issues for yourself and your pack."
"She is my mate, and I will keep her. She has a duty to me to provide Luna duties and provide me with pups."
I step towards him, and the guards raise guns towards me. "Let me rephrase this. You will give her back to me befo-"
I am cut off by another man that comes out of the gates. The Alpha that I met at my pack. "Allen, son. I am sure we can work something out here. There is no need for hostility." He says and makes the guards lower their weapons.
"I want what is mine." I say to him.
The man turns towards his son. "Why don’t we try to compromise a deal here. Instead of marking Leah, why don’t you get her to agree to carry a pup for you. Once the pup is born you will release her."
Allen turns to face his father. "I want her. She is my mate. I am not giving her up."
I speak up before Allen's father can. "Do you have any idea who she is? If you don’t release her, you will have royal wolves to deal with. Not just my pack. We will combine forces. I don't think your pack could even survive that."
His face falters before he speaks. "I will take that chance."
His father’s turns and looks at him. "You would risk this pack just to keep a girl against her will?"
"I will risk this pack to keep their Luna and my mate." He says to me and his father and walks back through the gate.
His father looks at me. "I will call for a pack meeting soon. My daughter has returned, and I will try to honor my word and give you your mate back in the exchange for my daughter."
"Thank you." is all I can manage to say.
I make my way back to where me and the vampire are camping and where the rental car awaits. I fill him in and decide to go for a run. I shift and take off into the woods. Pictures of Leah run through my mind. Our first night together. I can feel how her hands feel on me and the warmth of her lips on mine. I can feel the way her skin rubbed against me while she was in my arms. All I have is memories right now. I had a bad feeling when I let her go the last time, I saw her but unlike Allen, I won’t hold her against her will.
*Leah's POV*
The marking ceremony is supposed to be tomorrow. Once we mark each other we are forever bound to one another. Unless one of us dies. I have to find a way out of here, but I have guards that stand outside my door and outside the window of the room I am locked into. The only time I am allowed out is if Allen is home and I am with him. He plans for us to start trying for a pup right after the marking ceremony. I will never willingly do anything with him again. I know he has some kind of medicine that will make me bend to his will and this collar. It makes me nervous of what is to come. I hear footsteps by my door.
Allen walks in with a smile on his face. "It seems your other mate won’t give you up. I have decided to postpone the marking ceremony, but we will try for pups starting tomorrow. Enjoy your night tomorrow you will be moved into my room."
"I am not giving you pups. I don't want you to touch me." I say to him standing my ground.
He pulls my chin towards him. "You will give me a pup and I am sure you will enjoy every minute of our time together." He winks at me and leaves the room.
I feel like I am in a nightmare. I need to get out of here. My parents will start to worry soon if I do not check in. But they would have no idea where to look for me. I feel trapped. I want to run and scream. I should have stayed with Wyatt. I know he will fight for me, but what if it’s too late?
