*Wyatt's POV*
It has been an agonizing three weeks. Being away from my mate has had my heart in a million pieces. Every day that I go without her another piece of me dies inside. I have lost everyone else in my life and I won't be able to go through this again. I know she is okay because I have not felt the pain I felt when I lost my first mate. Pulling up to the meeting place with the vampire I see him leaning against the tree waiting.
I get out of my truck. "Any news for me?"
"I was able to find your mate. Do you know how hard it was to get onto their pack lands and search? They have security all over the place, if it wasn't for my vamp speed, I would have never made it in and out."
"Where is she?" I say impatiently.
"She is far from here, but ill text you the details. Although, she seems pretty happy. Are you sure she is your mate? I was able to watch her for a couple days. She was in a ceremony to become Luna with the new Alpha of the pack."
I look at him confused. "Are you sure it was her? This doesn’t make sense."
"Just relaying what I saw." He speaks to me.
"Do you think you would be able to get a message to her from me? I want the chance to see her and talk to her without having to go to war with that pack."
"You sure are asking for a lot. I can try. It was hard getting in the first time. You have to time it just right. They have fencing all around their borders and they have guards posted outside the entrance. I have to wait for when they transfer guards and run in."
"If you help me, I promise to help you get your wife back."
"That's the only reason I am helping you. We should go together and have you waiting a few miles out of the pack border so you can meet with her. It will take us a few hours to get there if we fly. A couple days if we drive."
"I’ll by the plane tickets and we can leave tonight if that will work for you." I speak to him.
"I’ll meet you at the airport in a few hours then."
Getting into my truck I think about what he told me. How could she become the Luna of a pack that took her to be a salve to? None of this is making sense to me. If she is free to do what she wants, then why didn't she just come back to me? My heart sinks. What if she is going to reject me? I won't survive that. I need answers. I cannot wait to be able to speak to her and get the answers I seek.
A few hours later me and my vampire ally are on the plane and heading to our destination. I place my ear buds in my ears and lean back into my seat just trying to let the time pass by before we land. Before I know it, the vampire nudges me, and I notice everyone is getting off the plane. We are the last two to get off. I rent a car and shortly we are headed to our next destination. The sun is just starting to come up by the time we find a place to camp outside of the pack lands.
The vampire speaks. "I will make sure to get to her tonight and pass the message. Hopefully she will decide to come with me. If so, I will get her out safely and bring her to speak with you."
"I will be forever thankful." I speak.
After that we both find a comfortable spot to rest while we wait. The same questions keep replaying in my head. I decide to get out of the car and go for a run to try and clear my head. It feels so good to shift into my wolf. She made it possible for me to even want to shift. I take off running and it feels so good to move all for legs and feel the wind blow through my fur. I can see Leah in my head. I wonder what her wolf looks like. My wolf is massive with rich black fur covering me except for a small white patch on my chest. My blue eyes take on a whole new shade of blue when I shift into my wolf. In my human form my eyes are blue like the sky. When I am in my wolf form, they are a shade lighter and sparkle like the stars. I can't wait to see Leah in her wolf form. I bet she is gorgeous.
I return to the car a few hours later. The sun is starting to set, and I know the vampire will be taking off on foot to go get Leah soon. He is already outside the car waiting for me to return.
"You ready for me to do this?" He asks me.
"I have been waiting for this day since she was taken from me."
I watch him as he walks away.
*Leah's POV*
The Luna ceremony was a few days ago and the ceremony was beautiful. I still can't believe I am Luna of a pack. I let my brother take over when our father stepped down because I didn't have interest in being a Luna, but when you meet your mate that changes things. You step up when you need to, and I did just that. Allen and I have not marked each other yet. We plan to do that in just a few days after the festivities of him becoming Alpha and me becoming Luna die down some. The pack members have all been welcoming. I know some of the first things I have told Allen I want to change would be to get rid of the slaves. He had no problems with this request and has already implemented it. Allen has a big pack meeting tonight so I am staying at home trying just relaxing and waiting on him to return. I have a feeling I will be asleep before he gets back home. Suddenly I hear a knock at my door.
Curious as to who is at my door, I open it slowly. I have never seen them before. "May I help you?" I ask.
"Hello my dear. I have a message to you from Wyatt if I may share it with you."
I look at him confused. "From Wyatt? Yea, you can relay a message."
"Wyatt is waiting for you outside your pack lands and has asked for you to meet with him so you guys can talk. I can take you to him."
"I am not sure what he would want with me. We only hooked up the one time. I won’t be able to leave without people coming with me."
"I can help you get out without being spotted with my vampire speed if you would like to speak with him."
I think about this for a few seconds before responding. "I guess that will work. We can leave now."
The vampire gently picks me up and takes off. We get behind a few trees by the gate entrance and then he looks at me before speaking. "We have to wait for the guards to change shifts before I can get us out without being seen."
I nod in response. An hour goes by before the guards come to change shifts and the vampire picks me up and speeds off. It takes us about another hour of him running before I see a car in the distance. It is dark so I can't see much from a distance, but soon Wyatt comes into view and all my memories of him being my mate come rushing into my head.
