Chapter One: Five Hundred White Roses
"Junia, my love,
Every time I close my eyes, I dream of you,
I dream about us, about you and I,
I dream about what we can become, what we will become,
You are always on my mind, my precious,
Every night I watch you sleep,
Sometimes I stare at your extraordinarily beautiful face from a distance,
Sometimes my fingers stroke your cheeks and I relish the feel of your soft, flawless, porcelain skin on my finger pads,
I am consumed by a need,
A need to be close to you all the time,
I will confess this to you, love,
Last night, I almost took you,
To spend an eternity in my arms,
I am growing increasingly impatient, but I will wait for you,
When the time is right, you will come to me,
Surely,
Eventually,
For now, I shall indulge in your scent,
I shall roll the few strands of hair I pluck out from your beautiful head each night between my finger tips and imagine your head on my lap and my fingers combing through your lush raven black hair,
My, you are a goddess,
And your scent, my love…
Your scent….
The whiffs I constantly take from the little garments and underwear I borrow from you from time to time, is..
I can't explain it, Junia,
You smell like the absent piece of me I have been searching for all my life,
You are my white rose,
The purest of all flowers and I will never allow anyone to cut you at the stem and remove you from my garden,
In this moment, I dream about you,
Because there is not much else I can do,
But to dream, to envision your turquoise eyes looking up at me with love, with need,
For now 'us' is just a fantasy
For now,
I promise you my gorgeous Junia, that soon we will meet again.
I love you now and forever.

My face distorted to a frown as I folded the note which was attached to a single white rose which had been delivered to me by one of the royal maids. Once I was done putting it back inside the envelope it came in, I handed it to Rivela, my lady- in- waiting and good friend to ensure that the note disappears from my sight. I sighed lightly, the note dissected to ashes between her palms like every other that had been sent.
"I suppose I shouldn't even ask?" The brunette, tall woman peered over my shoulder, her presence awakening a shudder to course through my spine.
For a fire witch, her presence was remarkably icy.
