Ethious:
"They love to be in the water don't they?" Jace asked sitting next to me as I went through some pack forms.
"Yeah," I said glancing up at my mate and her little sister. They're splashing one another, having fun.
"Luna Candice is here. Her and Alpha Damon are eating in town," he laughed referring to my parents.
"Will they be escorted here?" I asked getting back to work.
"Yes, sir,"
"Do you think they do this in the winter?" I asked pointing to my mate and her sister with the end of my pen.
"Surf season. I've seen the collection of boards inside," he shrugged. I had seen them too.
"When I asked her if she wanted to move back to the pack house she said she needed to stay here. It sounded like she didn't have a choice," I looked over at him.
"Planning on moving the pack house here then?" he didn't seem to mind.
"She asked me too. It was almost a business like request," he scoffed looking over at me before shrugging it off.
"Luna Candice would love that. Alpha thinks we'll have an advantage here against any rogues, It will also be very hard to infiltrate. This place is a fucken maze,"
"I know," I agreed leaning back on the patio chair.
"What's eating you, E?"
"She's different. They both are. Something about them. They seem human but they're dominant. You don't see that in humans. Humans don't go around expecting respect and submission,"
"She grew up around wolves. She was part of the alpha family. They were probably just raised the same way we were,"
I didn't press the issue. He joined me on the paperwork that combines the pack's finance with Rayna's company. Making it seem as if she were expanding her resort and making it into an official city. Reyna Peak.
"Hey, what are you guys working on?" I looked up to see Ray and Ro walking our way with towels around their necks. Jace quickly looked down at the papers, both girls are wearing a two piece.
"Permits and finance," I said as she sat on my lap without asking. Not that I mind. All of me is hers. Ro came over to her looking down at the screen.
"Oh s**t. It's huge," she said looking at the territorial expansion. Jace snorted covering his mouth before started laughing.
"That's what she said" Rayleen laughed joining him.
"Not yet she hasn't," I said make them laugh harder. "My parents are here. They're on their way from dinner at Allen's,"
"We will be ready by then," Ray said standing up. She gave me a quick peck. She grabbed Ro's hand pulling her towards the house both of them laughing.
"She's really something. They both are. I think you're right. humans don't have that to them. It's like a glamour. A Fanger glamour,"
"She's not a vampire," I shook my head. "But you're right,"
"I know she isn't. I'm not sure she's entirely human though,"
"She's not one of them," I repeated.
"Succubus?"
"We would have mated by now. Shortly after we met. No names or questions asked," He laughed knowing about Cassian back in Chicago. If I wasn't an alpha, I'd still have those marks.
"So, how soon will I be expecting grandchildren? I hear the new Luna is the most beautiful creature ever seen. That coming from a female," I turned around as my parents walked over. My mom looked me in the eyes with the challenge she usually did. I had missed her.
"Mom, she's human we'd have to make sure she's healthy enough to carry our pups,"
"I think it's funny that you guys call your babies pups," Ro said from behind my mom. We all looked over at her. She had changed really fast.
"Mom, this is Rayleen. Rayna's sister,"
"Oh, my Lord. You're so beautiful," my mom said pulling her into a hug.
"Thank you," Ro mumbled into my mom's chest. Ray's laughed made us look at her as she came down the staircase.
"Wow," my mom sighed still holding on to Ro.
"Love, I can't breathe. Would you mind releasing me a tad bit so I can catch some fresh air?" my mom let her go. "You don't have to let go I just wanted to breathe,"
"You're so beautiful. Both of you," my mom said in awe. My dad laughed at her reaction.
"Mom, dad. This is my mate, Rayna Osiano,"
"What a beautiful name. Queen of the Ocean," my mom beamed. Rayna flinched.
"How do you know that?" she asked. It was similar to the way she reacted with my mermaid comment.
"I took mythology for a while before I became Luna. Your parents must be fans," Rayna's heartbeat quickened and she looked away. "Rayleen means Princess,"
"Yeah. It does. I like your mom," Ro said to me looking at me.
"Thank you," my mom smiled rubbing her arm. "Where are your parents I would like to meet them,"
"Mom don't," I said softly as Ray took a step away from us. Before anyone can say another word she walked away.
"Our parents were killed when I was two months old. Ray and I had to relocate. She was really close to them. Especially my dad. She doesn't like to talk about it. I don't really remember them,"
"Can you...?" I asked looking down at her.
"Of course. I will entertain your beautiful mother and your handsome father. Maybe they can show me their wolves since you don't like to,"
"Ro," I warned.
"I know, I know, humans. Sheesh, alphas am I right?" she laughed pointing at me while looking at my dad. He smiled at her. "Oh, god. I forgot about you for a second. Pardon me,"
"Oh, I am going to enjoy having You around, baby girl," my mom laughed putting her arm over Ro's shoulders.
Ro can be a handful sometimes. In the two weeks, I've been here, I've grown to like having her around. She makes everything fun and my pack members are teaching her how to fight. Well, they're teaching each other. She seems to be a little different from the day we met.
The changes are obvious. She's growing. The glow around her gets stronger. Almost like a female wolf's body during ovulation. Her strength is also increasing. She can take on some of the smaller guards during sparing. I need to talk to Ray. I need some answers.
