Ethious: "That makes sense," Jace nodded after wrapping up the meeting. "Are you sure you can handle that?" my mother asked processing all we had gone over about the changes that there will be in the pack as well as the truth about Rayna and Rayleen. "Of course I can. She's my mate. I will do anything for her. I cannot even consider rejecting her," I said my tone was a little rude but so was her statement. "Good, cause I'm already in love with them. I'm going to go ask her if I can go swimming with her so I can hear her song. Oh, my gosh, it must be beautiful," she screeched and ran out of the room Ray established as my new study. "A siren? It never crossed my mind that there was intelligent life in the ocean," my dad said. "So, when you guys have pups will it be like in that one episode of Futurama where the mermaid lays eggs and Fry has to put his sperm in them?" Mason asked. I growled making everyone laugh. "f**k you guys. Don't even mention Mermaids to her unless you guys want to die. If I hear you dumb f***s upset my mate. I will beat the s**t out if you," they all calmed down getting serious. "Sorry alpha," Mason apologized. He and Jason left the room holding back their laughter. "If she's half fallen shouldn't she have wings or something?" Jace asked. "She said something about her dad's genes being dominant in her and Rayleen. I'll ask about that later," Everything that came out of her mouth scared the s**t out of me. The story of her family is horrible. Something along the lines of a fairytale and a horror movie. I believe her. All of it. I didn't need her to show me. The signs are all there. What I need to know is what does whatever is killing these people have to do with where she's from. No animal or supernatural being has the ability to feed that way. She knows about our supernatural history. Something not most of us are familiar with. All I know is that our Alpha King was sucked into a war amongst the other Royal houses because his son was mated to a Lamia princess. Their mating triggered what is known as the Great War of Darkness. "How did they take it?" I looked up at my mate. She calls the attention of everyone. I feel so abnormally plain at her side. "They took it fairly well," she giggled and jumped onto my lap. "I thought they wouldn't like me. Or suggest you get rid of me," "Even if they didn't like you I wouldn't give a f**k about what they wanted. You're my Luna and they have to accept that or they can go f**k themselves," "You're such a guy," she laughed. "What's that supposed to mean?" I asked confused. "Nothing. It's a statement. You're such a guy. Cursing and pretending you don't care. When in fact you do," I pulled her into me putting our foreheads together. "Are you nervous?" I asked feeling the slight tremble in her hands. "No," she answered way too fast for it not to sound defensive. "You don't have to be. I should be the one that's nervous. You're the queen of the ocean," she sighed. "No, I'm not. I'm afraid to go past the peak. I can't go further than six hundred miles out from the shore without thinking they might come and kill us. It's why I don't sing in the ocean anymore. You shouldn't worry about that. You'd never have to make that choice," Green tears streamed down her face. It looks like her beautiful green eyes are bleeding their beautiful color out. All I could do is try to comfort her. I don't know a single thing about the ocean. Last night is the first time I heard of ocean life aside from what national geographic taught me. How evidence of ocean people hasn't come up yet is a mystery to me. I mean come on. They were here before humans existed. "I wish there was some way for me to help, baby," I whispered into her ear. Her arms around my neck tightened. She pulled back her eyes glowing. They look a little closer to teal overpowering any other color in her eyes. Like the black and the white. They were just glowing. "I want you to love me," she whispered. I barely caught it. I couldn't respond or look away. My wolf roared inside of me at her request urging me to move but I couldn't I was captivated by her eyes. I couldn't and didn't want to look away. It wasn't a trap. I know whatever power she has is trying to get through to me. Like it was trying to connect with me but it just wouldn't. Is there something wrong with me? What is she trying to do? "How does that work?" I asked unable to look away from her. She looked down at me with a smile. "Have you never had s*x before?" she asked making me laugh. "I mean because of what you are," she smirked. "It works the same way. It's a little more painful. I'm going to need to feed but you'll probably enjoy it more than anything," "You have to feed?" I asked wondering how the hell she fed. She nodded looking me over with a smile. "Does it involve biting?" "Only if I get carried away. You can tell me to stop," my senses are all in shock. I can't bring myself to say no much less consider thinking about telling her no. It's going to happen anyway. I've wanted it to happen from the moment we met. When I asked Ro about Desires she told me she was surprised that Ray had lasted this long. Sirens mate at first sight. She said they're driven by their need to feed and since she's met me. Rayna hasn't had an appetite for anything other than me. I wanted to ask her how they fed but my mother walked in with our former beta female and they all started asking her questions about the water. Ro is friendly. She likes when the attention is on her. Ray isn't like that and it's obvious she hates that Ro is. "We don't have to," she whispered coming closer to me. I smiled looking up at her. "No, we have to," I said pushing aside everything in my body that was screaming for me to wait. If I continue to second guess myself. It's never going to happen. I'm never going to be ready.
