I'm not sure her glasses were helping her enough so I stood up from my chair and turned around to look at her computer.
" What are you doing?" She asked me as I came to stand beside her looking at her screen and there was my name in full.
Katherine Gia Westbrook.
I straightened up as I looked at the woman with a smile, she looked at me in confusion wondering why the sudden change of mood when it looked like I wanted to cry just seconds ago when I was told I would be working under the boss.
It was even better, I torment the boss, I torment the company.
" Well thank you Ma, I'm sure I'm going to have a great time at this company and I hope you people don't regret your choice of keeping me here," I said as I walked back to my seat and picked up my bag.
" I should better get to work," I said as I smiled at her before walking out of her office. I didn't know a single thing about being an assistant in such a big company, but since they refused to listen to me, I might as well show them what I could do, which was nothing. I was a fast learner but who says I want to learn what it takes to be an assistant when I didn't even want to be here?
I warned them but they wouldn't listen, It was time to summon my inner evilness.
I got into the elevator and pressed the button for Mr. Vincenzo's office. As I got to the front of the floor I stopped for a minute to rethink my decision, did I really want this? Will this come back to backfire on me?
I knew the decision I made as I knocked on the door.
I heard his deep voice telling me to come inside and I took a deep breath then with a smile, I opened the door and walked in.
" Kather…Miss Westbrook?" Mr. Vincenzo asked in surprise.
" Well since your company needs experts like me, how could I refuse," I said,
" So this means you'll be here for five months or maybe more?" You wish.
" Well, it depends on how your company treats me, where do I start from? What do I do?" I asked as I looked around like I was looking for something.
" I'm not the one to put you through about your responsibilities but for you, I'll make an exception,"
" Well, how kind of you," I said mockingly.
" Remember I'm your boss," He said in warning, he was already claiming boss, let's wait and see how that goes.
" Your job is simple…"
" Then do it yourself,"
" Miss Westbrook?"
" Yes?"
" I'm talking,"
" Okay sir, go ahead, I'm listening,"
" Your job is to manage my schedule, organize meetings and appointments, handle my travel arrangements, prepare reports and presentations, you'd have to assist in planning some events, repre…" He kept on blabbing and just stood there watching him and waiting for him to finish.
I used the opportunity to look around his office, he had good taste in furniture, not like I was ever gonna tell him that.
" Are you even listening to me?" No, I don't give a s**t about what you're saying.
" Oh you're done, do I look like an expert to you? You just kept talking and talking, all I could see was just pile and pile of work, how wonderful it is to work with the CEO, yeeee," I said as I clapped my hands together.
" You're going to be undergoing training, you can't be my assistant without undergoing proper training,"
" Just a quick question Mr. Vincenzo,"
" I'm listening,"
" Are you saying you don't have an assistant? Because I don't understand, you're a CEO and you should have a secretary or something,"
" I do, she's on leave,"
" Just like that,"
" Are you going to stand here questioning me or you're going to get to work?"
" What do I even do?"
" You can start by bringing me coffee," Coffee? Okay.
" Just as you wish Sir,"
I walked out of his office and went to the office kitchen he told me about. I got a cup and pressed the coffee machine to get coffee and then I put just the right amount of sugar and walked back to his office.
" Your coffee is here," I said as I dropped the coffee on the table and he looked at it like it was poisoned, was he scared? Hahaha.
" It's not poisoned, well there's no poison in here anyway,"
" Are you saying if there was poison you would have…" He didn't complete the statement, he turned to look at me.
" Your words not mine, enjoy your coffee, Sir," He looked like he was contemplating whether to take the coffee or not before he picked it up, well such a good decision.
The moment he put the coffee in his mouth he was spitting back into the cup.
" Katherine!"
" It's Miss Westbrook," I said and he glared at me
" Just how many cubes of sugar did you put into this cup?" He asked and I brought my fingers in front of me to count. I counted to thirteen.
" Thirteen cubes of sugar, are you insane?" He asked and I shook my head.
" You've worked as my maid before Katherine, you know how I like my coffee,"
" Bitter? I can't really remember, I'm so used to making sweet coffee for my boyfriend that I've forgotten how I do it for others, my bad, let's try again," I took the cup and returned to the kitchen then I poured the coffee and made another one then I returned to him.
" Your coffee Sir, just how you like it, or maybe you can just get a new assistant," I suggested.
He picked the cup and drank everything and I felt really bad for him.
" Now go to the internship supervisor and start your training, I wouldn't tolerate any mishap in my company,"
" As you wish Sir,"
