Elizabeth White. The beeping on the machine is like a timer, a reminder that when it stops his life stops. My father, the man that took care of me his whole life, is dying. Or dead. My mom and grandma are both sitting on the chairs in the room, my grandmother has on a mask as the scent of clorox and disinfectant is high. My mom is biting her nails, something she does when she has no clue what's about to happen next, or what step to take after. The doctor is standing in a corner awaiting the go ahead to pull the plug, dad went brain dead after a couple days of showing improvement, sadly while at work he fell from a tree and injured himself really badly. He was doing what he loved, landscaping. “Elizabeth, I think” grandma calls out to me. “ Don't you dear Merry, let her have all the time she needs. It's her father for Christ sake.” Mom stops her and I swear I see my father smile. That's one thing he loved about my mother, her spicy ways and straight forward mouth. She doesn't care who you are or what you are, she tells it to you. Grandma leaves the room and I remain standing there for about five more minutes. “Pull the plug.” The words leave my mouth quickly and suddenly with hopes that I wouldn't take it back. All of a sudden the line goes flat and so does my heart, my father is dead, my king charming is dead and never coming back. A human's life is nothing compared to a werewolf's, his last words, which I will never forget. “ We at Hearts Medical Hospital are deeply sorry for your lost Katherine and our doors are always open to you and Lizzy, remember that.” Dr. Heart gives us both warm hugs and leaves with her students. “Well honey, the preparations are already made thanks to your father now it's just for you to choose the date.” Mom grabs me closer to her and we leave the room,Klause my mother's husband and Alpha of the pack I would now be staying is sitting on a chair in the waiting area. When he sees us coming he stretches his hand out to me and pulls me in, he holds me for a long time then lets go. He looks me over and gives me a firm nod. “You are going to be alright, I'm here for you if you need me ok.” “Where did Spade go?” Mom asked. “He had to get back to the dorms, to clean out his stuff.” “Ohh right, well I guess he would meet Elizabeth when she moves.” “Moves, I can't recall this discussion. Elizabeth isn't moving; she needs to stay with normal people, not part human and part dog.” My grandmother said, “Elizabeth is part dog Merry,besides it's your son's final wish. He disclosed it to Elizabeth weeks before he went brain dead.” “You, my son should have listened to me, he should have just gone ahead and married Cherry but no he insisted on marrying you. Now look where it leads him in the grave.” “Are you saying it's because of me….” “Yes it's because of you, if you didn't leave him he wouldn't have to work himself to death.” “You want to know something Merry, I didn't leave him for anything else but because of you. You were always in his business, always being nosey… you're the most.” Grandma lifted her hand and slapped mom across her face, everyone stood in the lobby filled with shock. “Now you listen to me here Elizabeth, if you leave after your father's burial consider me dead. It's either you stay here with me or go with your mother and her Mut.” Grandma clutched her purse and began walking to the exit, before mom could grab a hold of his arm Alpha Klaus Black was already ten toes behind grandma. “Listen to me, you don't have to come with us if you don't want to…” “There isn't anything here for me anymore mom, I'm coming with you even if that means I have no grandmother. Now let's go stop uncle Klause before she calls the police.” We both hurry out of the hospital and to the car park where we find grandma and Klause in a heated argument. I couldn't think about anything at this very moment except that I hope with every fibre that he doesn't wolf out. My grandmother doesn't like Klause because she thinks he cast some sort of spell on my mother, and that said spell caused her to leave my dad. No matter how hard I try telling her that's not how it works she doesn't want to hear it. So I just leave her and let her imagination run wild. But since my dad's injury and all of the unexpected , happened, she started imagining more crazy things, for example she says Klause put Jojo in dad and made him fall off that tree. A loud bang comes out of nowhere and my mother yelps, I turn around and couldn't believe what happened right before us.
