*edited* "Let's start afresh" I spoke in a business like tone. He face hardened as he heard me and his nostrils were flared. After managing to calm myself down, I went to his study and there he was. "Hey, I am Elizabeth Hurst. Nice to meet you." He took my hand in his and shook it briefly. "Adrian Miller." He was game I see. "What do you do, hobbies?" I continued. I have made up my mind. It is going to be strictly professional. His jaw tightened. "I play with you." My breath hitched. "Now that we have just met, I will go over some rules." I dread him. "You will listen to everything I say, without a question." "The contract, yes" I nodded. "I would like to go through it again." He pulled out a file from the first drawer and pushed it into my hands. "I expect you to lose yourself until the night, everyday. Night, I shall find you in my bed." He walked out casually, making my lips part. That is not how I had expected it to go. Definitely not. "Ms. Hurst" I shut my eyes as he called my name with hatred. "Yes?" I went to him, he was looking at his shoes. "You will keep everything ready that I would need, for the day's work." I frowned. "My shoes aren't polished for instance. None of this will repeat" he walked out. "I am not your servant" I said calmly, following him. "This is my shoe rack." He went around showing, ignoring me completely. "This is my briefcase." Like how could he ignore and show me where he keeps his things at the same time? "My breakfast should be ready before I come down." "Okay." "Sir" he added, looking at me for once. "Okay sir" I repeated. "My files. Arrange them how you see fit. But if I can't find even one, you will regret it." "And you will hand me my keys. I don't like to be kept waiting." He finished. I made mental notes. Remind me to write them down. Well with the way things were going, I'm thinking he is going to make me his secretary. "Should I accompany you to your office?" I asked as he sat down to have breakfast. "Phoebe, Ms. Hurst will do just fine. You may leave." He wants me to serve him breakfast? I think I will draw the line here. "I don't think so, Mr. Miller. I am not going to be serving you. And especially not when you are treating me the way you are." He glanced at his watch and then at me. "Read the contract before I am home. I will be asking you some of the rules and you must know them all." Is this a joke? Can he not understand how hilarious this sounds. Rules?! Oh I have to know the rules by heart now. Ha! Annoying I tell you. "Any other homework sir?" "Mind your tongue." Why should I? He is insane. I know I exaggerate a bit but this guy is just getting on my nerves. "I asked you if I have to accompany you to your office." I smirked. "Sir" I added. "I wouldn't want to be seen with you" his words just hit me like a truck of bricks. I might even have been bruised, from the inside of course. "Have a slow going day." He turned back to me while his eyes dared me to repeat. Retreat. Abort mission. "Have a great going day." He drove off, making me sigh in relief. He was certainly scary. "Something happened between sir and you?" Phoebe came around, making me jump and clutch my chest. "Uh nope. Nothing is happening basically" I face palmed. "You wanted something to?" she asked in her sing song voice. "No Phoebe." "What do you do in your free time?" I asked as I sat down on the couch. Her eyes widened and I frowned. "I don't think we should sit on that" she looked horrified. "We are not servants you know" I said, patting the place next to me. She shook her head slightly. "You are not a servant either. You are a cook." Well apparently she doesn't share my view. But little did she know that Adrian and me used to sit here, hand in hand. I don't know why it sounds cliche but it was very comfortable with him. I sighed. Maybe I made things worse. But it's for the best I guess. At least I know that I won't get hurt. I know he will be harsh with me and it is better than having to get close and deal with these emotions. "I just be with my phone" she smiled and I nodded. "That's wonderful, anything other than that?" I smiled. "We are going out. Clubbing?" I asked hopefully and she gasped. "No, of course not. That is.. different, difficult in fact!" "It is not a sin" I laughed heartily. She looked horrified. "Phoebe, it is time for a transform" I winked. She opened her mouth but I dragged her up to my room. "Ms. Hurst" she squealed, as I took out my straightener. I sighed. "It's Liz for you" I chuckled. "Elizabeth is it?" she smiled and I nodded. "It is time" I spoke dramatically. We had an amazing time, talking. I learned that she is a very sweet person, with a few family problems. She told me she was never interested in studying and that she always had a thing for cooking. "No!" she screamed, running about the room, late in the evening. "Phoebe!" I groaned, trying to get a hold of her. "That is no dress. I almost look naked" she shook her head vigorously as she jumped up on the bed. "Okay fine! How about this dress?" I offered, this one was full length. "It's torn!" she slapped her hands to her mouth. "It is a design. A side slit that is" I fell to the ground laughing as I clutched my stomach. She sat in front of the mirror, licking her lips nervously as she blinked her eyes open. "Ta-da" I motioned with my hands. She let out a shaky breath. "That does look nice" she pointed to the mirror. "What?" I smiled looking to where she had pointed. "I meant me. I look nice" she smiled. "You are indeed beautiful, with or without make up I swear" I pushed a curl forward and she smiled. "How old do you think I am?" she stood up. "Twenty-ish" I finished, my head tilted to the side. "Twenty exactly" she beamed. "Me too" I chuckled, hugging her. "What if Ryder doesn't recognise me?" she whispered. "Who is Ryder?" my eyes lit up. "B..friend" she smiled shyly. "Boyfriend" I squealed. "Don't scream" she panicked, looking all around. "It is not a crime to have a boyfriend" I deadpanned. "I don't want people to know." "Why not?" I asked, as we got down the stairs. She shook her head and I shrugged. I am not going to let her go that easy. "Where is this club? Will we be able to reach back home before sir comes?" she asked. "Doesn't matter really" I shrugged. "Where are you girls going?" asked Bryce, the security man. "Clubbing" I rubbed my hands and an amused smile struck his sharp features. "Who are you?" he narrowed his eyes at Phoebe. "Phoebe of course" I beamed. He blinked several times. "I can't let the both of you go." "Why?" I whined. He shook his head. "Good night Bryce" Phoebe smiled, turned to walk back. "Come back here" I dragged Phoebe back to where we were. "Oh come on sir. Please" I batted my eyelashes. He shook his head. "I don't think I can let you go." "I promise we will come back to you" I laughed as we walked out, making him smile. "I saw that smile" I said loudly making him clear his throat and the smile vanished. "You looked good though" Phoebe piped in.
