Sean’s POV
This morning I was out with Jack and Stella as they introduced me to the last of the unmated she-wolves in the pack. None of them were my mate and I had come to terms with the fact that it was alright. I would find her when I was meant to. Right now I was meant to learn and help the other packs. There were no other Beta’s here and that was ok too. I would find my best friend eventually and I’m sure it would be great.
We were in the dining hall talking with members when Jack’s eyes went dull with a mind-link. When he came out of it he took Stella’s hand and looked at me.
“They were spotted again. Orson is headed for my office to give us the details.”
The three of us headed for Jack’s office to wait for Orson. When Orson entered the room he closed the door and stepped up to Jack’s desk. Jack was sitting in his chair while Stella and I were on the couch.
“I got a message that they are in Dearborn. Our people haven't been spotted,” Orson said quickly.
“Ok. You and Sean go and see if you can get them,” Jack told us.
“On it,” Orson replied.
I got up from the couch, turned to Stella and Jack and said, “I’m bringing that b***h back. I promise.”
I turned and left Jack’s office with Orson and climbed into his car that was out front of the packhouse. He drove us to the airfield and we boarded the pack’s private jet. There was something else I needed to get, a private jet in the future.
We wasted no time and took off for Dearborn. The flight took three hours and I was nervous that I wouldn’t be able to produce results on the promise I just made to Jack and Stella. I was restless and Charlie kept telling me to calm down.
Once we landed, there was a car waiting on us. We quickly took scent suppression pills which I was a little hesitant to take at first. It would take two days for it to wear off and if I ran into my mate she wouldn’t be able to get my scent. I shook it off and took it anyway. I needed to deliver on what I said I would.
We got in the car and Orson drove us to the site of the coven house. It took us twenty minutes to get there from the airport. We found the two warriors that were assigned to this coven and assessed the situation so we could proceed forward.
“So where are they?” Orson asked the warriors in a whisper.
“The high priestess has Carmen and a few coven members in the woods. Adria wasn’t allowed to go to their casting site and had to stay in the house. The other coven members are watching her,” one of the warriors informed us.
“Alright. We need to get into the coven house and grab her,” Orson said.
“How many exits does the house have?” I asked, looking at the large coven house.
It was a large two-story house that had that witchy vibe to it. It almost looked like something out of American Horror Story’s season “Coven” if you ask me.
“Two. A front door and a kitchen door,” the warrior answered.
“Two of us should go through the front and the other two through the back. One person stays at each door while the other two move through the house clearing it and grab the she-wolf,” I said.
“Solid,” Orson said with a nod.
The four of us moved towards the house quickly so we could get this over with. My heart was racing with anticipation because we were so close. One warrior went with Orson to the front door and one went with me through the back. The warriors stayed in place at the doors while Orson and I moved around looking and sniffing for Adria. They had informed me that she smelled like wisteria, but she had been marked as a rogue so her scent might be a little different now. She would either smell like death or it would linger on her scent of wisteria.
We cleared the bottom floor quickly and started to move up the stairs following the she-wolves’ scent. It smelled of wisteria with death laced around it. We moved down the halls together and looked in each room we came across. We moved around quietly and quickly until we heard the sound of a lady’s voice in a room up ahead. Orson stopped me by putting a hand on my shoulder and I looked at him. He tilted his head towards the room and I nodded in reply. The she-wolf must be in there.
We made our way up to the room with closed double doors. There were several voices in the room that I could hear and they were all women. Orson drew my attention to him and motioned for me to go in after the she-wolf. Since she didn’t know me it might give me an advantage in grabbing her.
I took a deep breath to calm my presence and put a fake ass smile on my face. I opened the doors and walked into the room. There were three ladies in the room, two witches sitting in chairs at a table drinking tea and folding laundry while a she-wolf sat on a bed and talked with them. When I saw her I almost couldn’t believe that such a pretty thing could be so evil under the surface.
“Hi,” she said in a sweet voice while looking me over.
I knew she could tell on sight that I was a wolf but the fact that I was someone she didn’t know might be to my advantage. She didn’t try to run but instead sat there and stared at me.
“Hey. Are you Adria?” I asked with fake happiness.
At the mention of her name her smile dropped and her eyes darted from me to the open doors. I took a step towards her and she stood up to run. I moved to grab ahold of her and she tried to get away. As I grabbed her arm I brought her to a halt. She stomped her foot several times and tried to pull away from me. She started to claw at my arm, tearing my skin open with her nails. That s**t hurt but I wouldn’t let it affect me, I wouldn’t let go of her. She growled at me and it was a pathetic and weak sound.
I was happy that the coven members didn’t step in the way to help her. I think they were ready to have this over with so Jack’s warriors wouldn’t be watching them anymore.
I looked from Adria up to Orson. He took the silver cuffs from his pocket and handed them to me. Adria was still thrashing around trying to get away from me. She finally stopped when she saw Orson and glared at him.
“So you had to send a rogue Alpha after me?” she spat.
How dare this b***h call me a rogue Alpha! Her mouth just made my stay a little longer at Harvest Moon. I wanted to see what Jack was going to do with her. I’m nothing like that f*****g oldest brother of mine. I took a breath to calm down.
“I’m no rogue,” I said while putting the cuffs on her.
She hissed as it stung her wrists. What a wimp. It barely hurt me to handle them. She was clearly a weak omega in more ways than one.
I wasn’t prepared when she abruptly bent herself over in front of me while I still had a hold of her wrists. My eyes went wide at how forward she was. Was she crazy? There’s no way I would touch something like her. She was showing just how nasty she was and I didn’t appreciate it.
“Just take what you want from me and let me go,” she said in a seductive voice.
I laughed at her absurd thinking that I wanted to do anything with her. Nope! She might be pretty but I could see how gross and vile she was. I would rather try to stick my shaft in a blender honestly. I was taught not to stick it in crazy and that’s what this girl was. Crazy.
“I don’t want that. What I want is to help Stella and Jack and watch you pay for what you did,” I told her.
“I can make it worth your while,” she says while wiggling her ass at me.
I needed to put an end to her talking or I would go insane. I looked around the room for something to shut her up with. I glanced over at the table where the pile of clothes was. I moved over towards it and grabbed a sock. I shook Adria to make her stand up straight. When she faced me she had a smile on her face so I smiled even wider with the knowledge of what I was about to do to her. I moved quickly and shoved the sock in her vile little mouth as she gasped in horror. Sweet bliss of silence followed. I wanted to laugh at how mortified she was at what I did to her.
I smiled even wider and said, “There. So much better.”
Orson laughed as Adria glared at me. We walk downstairs to the two warriors that are still waiting for us. All of us walked out the front door of the coven house as a tall elegant looking witch came running up. She had a scar on her face but that didn’t take away from how nice she looked.
“Carmen, Alpha Jack wants you to know that he needs your help to undo the hex. My mate has been working on it since you went to St. Helens. She just needs a few details and it should be done. Once you have helped us you will be banished from the pack but no other punishment will fall upon you,” Orson said.
This was Carmen, the witch that had been helping Adria. I hope she really wants to help us break the hex on Stella.
She nods her head and asks, “What about Adria?”
“Her punishment is up to Jack and there is nothing that will stop that,” Orson told her.
Carmen nodded her head and got her things. Orson, Carmen, Adria and I got in the rental car and drove back to the airfield. I was happy that they didn’t try to escape from us. I guess they finally realized that running wouldn’t help them.
We boarded the plane and started the three-hour flight back to Harvest Moon. When we landed we got into Orson’s car and drove back to pack territory. We drove up to the packhouse and Orson parked out front.
I grabbed Adria and Orson led me to an interrogation room they had. In the room, there was a chair in the center that was bolted to the floor. There were cuffs on the steel chair that would bind her arms and legs so she couldn’t escape. I saw a small table off to the side which I’m sure was for torture tools. We did something similar at Trinity Forest. I noticed the two-way mirror so I knew there was an observation room also.
I closed the door to the room before I uncuffed Adria. I pushed her to sit down in the chair with a quick and hard shove. I fished the sock out of her mouth and tossed it to the side before moving to bind her to the chair.
I wasn’t prepared again when she reached out and grabbed a handful of my package. I froze at the intrusion and looked down at her with wide eyes. How dare this f*****g female treat me like this and think she can touch me. My anger rose and I let out a loud growl from the back of my throat.
“Release me, now!” I commanded in my Alpha tone.
She let go of me and looked down at her lap in submission. I quickly cuffed that hand to the chair than the other. I moved on to cuff her legs after that. I left the room and found the door to the observation room was open. There stood Orson and Jack watching me.
“We will start interrogating her once we have eaten dinner and talked with the others,” Jack said.
We all left the observation room to meet with Stella and Pearl who were with Carmen in Jack’s office. Carmen was profusely apologizing to Stella for what had happened. Stella was nice and let Carmen know that what Adira did was out of anyone else's control. I don’t know if I would be able to see things that way if it were me.
“We will discuss the hex and everything else after dinner. Right now we need to be present for the pack,” Jack told everyone.
I enjoyed eating dinner here. It was different. Since Jack kept himself from being disturbed during the day, he spent a lot of his evening in the dining hall so members could tell him about their issues. I don’t know any Alphas that do that.
We all left his office and went to eat dinner. While we ate and talked I let them know that I would be leaving sometime tomorrow since I delivered Adria like I wanted.
Once the hall was quiet and the members were done for the night, we all got up and went back to Jack’s office. Pearl and Carmen stood there talking about the hex and what Adria did wrong. They were talking of finding a solution and working together to reverse it. I sat there half-assed listening to them. I didn’t know anything about magic so I was no help here.
“That’s genius!” Pearl cries making all of us jump in our seats.
She had snapped me back to what was going on and I watched as she left the room. No one moved so I stayed where I was. When she came back into the office with a bag full of supplies, she grabbed her book. We all followed her out of the packhouse and out to the spot she practiced her magic. It was a dark spot in the woods with a circle made of stones and a large stone table in the middle.
“How did you get that table out here?” Jack asked her.
“I portaled it,” she said simply.
“Ok, Stella you will have to perform this spell but I will talk you through the whole thing,” Pearl tells her.
As they got to work on breaking the hex, I sat down on the ground and placed my elbows on my knees and then rested my chin on one of my hands. Jack and Orson stood there up against some trees close by me. I sat there and watched as Pearl went through the motions of the spell she had created to break the hex. It wasn’t anything fancy and there wasn’t much chanting with it. I was happy when it was over and we got to go back to the packhouse for the night. I was ready to sink into the bed in the room I was in. I was exhausted after today.
