KISSERA CLAMPED A HAND over her mouth as a shriek escaped. Outside, Lucifer was engulfed in flame, his body twisted and contorted. Raw screams erupted from him. She'd never seen Lucifer mildly disturbed, much less writhing in pain. Fire surrounded him. A winged creature twisting in the flames bellowed a sorrowful cry. As soon as the display started, it was over. Lucifer was back in his normal form. He wasn't moving. Kissera rushed outside to his side. He was passed out, wings limp, face covered in sweat. “What did you do?” Tears sprung to her eyes as she met the cold, impersonal gaze of the violet and white winged angel. “He'll be fine,” the angel said, handing her a diamond perfume bottle filled with blood.
