The large wolf has been starving for days, his leg is in excruciating pain. He was at the point of being lost but he has just laid there and not moved, just waiting, he is on his way out with no fight left, he had all but given up.
He doesn't want to live in this terrible world anymore.
He was on the brink of death, wanting to take his last breath, wishing to take his last breath and that was when a small soft warm hand landed on his cheek, once he opened his eyes and saw those beautiful silver eyes, he suddenly had the feeling that there was still some good left in the world that maybe it wasn't as bad as his just thought maybe he could just hang on even just a little bit longer.
Thea looks at his leg caught in the trap and then looks back in his green eyes.
“I am going to get this off you, okay?”
Thea is well aware that her action is going to hurt but it needs to be done, she just needs to make sure that he isn’t going to lash out at her because this will be her most compromising move.
Sam uses his last bit of energy to move his head slightly. Indicating he understands, that tiny little movement beyond his endurance and his head falls back down to the ground. Every bit of energy expelled
Thea looks at the wolf, a look of genuine sympathy on her beautiful face as her hand runs up his neck and runs over his ear in a comforting gesture. She stands up and moves down to his rear leg before snapping the trap open and ever so gently removing the leg before using her strength to rip the trap to pieces before throwing it away.
She kneels down and inspects the wound. It shows no sign of healing. She can assume the severe starvation and dehydration would cause that, she takes off her shirt, ripping the material into shreds as she ever so carefully wraps the wounded leg to try and stem the blood loss. Her act of opening the trap causing more damage and fresh blood to flow.
"Okay, I have limited medical knowledge and I am positive that I should not just feed you meat straight away. Looking at your state, I would say that you haven’t eaten in a while, a large amount in one go will only make you sick, but I have no resources and you don't look like you can wait. You are far too big to carry"
Thea looks at the wolf. He is large, nearly bigger than Trey’s wolf, maybe bigger, she is strong, but she has her limits. She will be able to lift him, just not carry him safely for such a distance, especially in his condition. Anyway, the reality of the situation is that if she dragged an unknown wolf to her pack, his fate would be sealed anyway. She may be the beta, but she isn’t allowed to make such decisions. Trey is jealous of anything and everything, so that is not an option at all.
"Bear with me. I will try my very best"
Thea runs to the nearest water source, which is thankfully relatively close, and dips the rest of her clothing in water, running back to Sam’s location in just a bra and underwear.
She sits down on the ground and cradles his large head on her lap, gently tilting his head to let the water run from the clothing into his mouth.
It is not an ideal method, but it is the best she can do for now. The wolf drinks the water, but can't even summon the energy to open his eyes and look at the girl who is caring for him.
Once the clothes are wrung dry. Thea stands up and strips naked before falling forward, a dark brown wolf bursts forth, silver eyes shine brightly as they look around, nose tilts upwards as she breathes in deeply, searching for prey.
Green eyes slightly open as the gray wolf looks at the beautiful she wolf in front of him.
While some brown wolves look plain, the wolf in front of him is on the large side. One of the largest she-wolves he has seen. Her coat is so thick, long and luxurious, her muscle definition is good, even her shift was fast and seamless, it can be seen that she shifts often. Only someone who shifts often can be so fluid in the process. The slight breeze causing the glossy coat to move, scent pouring off her right in his direction.
Her scent is divine.
Silver eyes look back at him before she takes off at a run. Green eyes close.
He doesn't have much faith in the she wolf to be able to save him, but even if she can't, it is nice to have some care for him, such a beautiful being. If that is what he gets beside him at the end of his life, he’s not too worried.
He thought that there wasn't a sliver of light left to be had in his life, that he was undeserving of any care that he'd lost all that in such a brutal way.
Even if he were to die right now, he would die happy, because at least he got to feel care, he got to feel a gentle touch, to hear a soothing voice, he received that final bit of care that he never thought he'd have again.
He didn’t think it was possible for a light to arrive in the surrounding darkness, but the beautiful kind she wolf is a blessing from the goddess when he needed a blessing the most.
He lies somewhat more comfortably now. While the water wasn't much, it was enough to quench his thirst and stop the pain of his sore throat, stopping his tongue feeling like sandpaper.
Her lingering scent and residual heat still staying with him, bringing his cold, broken heart a tiny bit of comfort.
The ice-cold heart slowly starts to thaw.
Thea quickly returns, dragging a doe behind her. She carefully tears off tiny pieces of flesh and lays them aside on a pile of clean leaves that she has pushed into place with her nose, her canines ripping the flesh in a very precise way.
Green eyes are open as he watches her every move, she is large and obviously trained, yet her movements are so gentle. Thea shifts in front of him, putting on her underwear again without a care in the world.
What a beautiful creature, her tanned taut skin set off against the blood red down her face and chest, she is a vicious picture of beauty.
He can't help but think back. Is she more beautiful than her?
Thea turns to him, a gentle smile on her face, red blood starting to dry on her plump lips, her silver eyes shining with a tender light.
She is by far more beautiful than her.
"You are keeping your eyes open. That is a good sign"
Thea sits in her original position cradling his head and feeding him ever so slowly.
"Sorry I know this has been in my mouth, but I don't usually walk with utensils, and since you need food now, I am sure you can survive my saliva. I promise I don’t have any ailments except for a terrible attitude and a smart mouth"
Thea laughs at her own stupid joke, the sound is beautiful, the wolf loves the sound, he has rarely heard anything so joyous. Green eyes are just trained on Thea's every move, every expression. She subconsciously just keeps patting his head in a soothing way as she feeds him little by little.
"Your wolf is very beautiful, when you get some energy you can shift, it might be easier to treat your wounds without all this fur"
The big gray wolf shakes his head and closes his eyes again.
"You don't want to shift?"
Again the wolf shakes his head. Thea narrows her eyes as she tilts her head and looks at him, trying to work out the wolf's intentions.
"Are you worried about being naked in front of me? Are you worried about what you look like?"
The wolf shakes his head, his eyes still watching Thea intently. He wants her to understand, but he has no idea how to communicate with her.
Thea says something that is outside the realm of possibility but it is the only thing that fits.
"You can't shift?"
The big gray wolf nods his head. Thea sighs, even though she had a feeling that was the case for some reason, even though she has never heard of it happening.
Even though it would have hurt like hell, he could have shifted and got himself out of the trap and not ended up so feeble, even when he passed out, in most circumstances, he would shift.
Thea nods as if making a big decision.
"That's okay, I will look after you. You are lucky that you wandered into my territory. I know this area well. I can keep you safe"
The big gray wolf just stares at Thea, the beautiful girl with kind eyes taking such a grand oath. Selflessly caring for him.
Especially when he's in this state, he is pretty much useless and he is so very broken. The wolf world is harsh. As soon as one loses value, they are killed.
He did want to die, but not so much anymore. He eats the meat that Thea delivers to his mouth, extending her large canine and tearing pieces smaller if needed.
He eats as much as he can until his stomach hurts.
