Jesse's eyes widened in shock as he saw Olivia's face and realized that she was the same young lady Justin had been asking him about earlier when they were still at the club. But now she looked far more battered than when he had seen her before.
Jesse couldn't believe that she was the one, and Justin was seriously worrying about her too.
Olivia was unable to speak about who had hurt her as she cried and begged Justin, "Please, sir... help me get to the estate gate."
Justin asked her, "Why?"
He held her left hand closely, not wanting her to run away from him again, but his phone continued ringing in the side pocket of his black suit trousers.
Jesse's phone rang too, and Justin knew it was his parents calling. Even though they sometimes acted blindly toward him, his mother always called to check on him and see if he was alright.
Justin said, "Wait a moment..."
He took out his phone from his trousers while Jesse picked up his own call.
Justin's mother had called his father to complain about Justin's absence from their mansion.
Jesse said, "Boss, your dad is calling me now. We need to leave here."
Jesse picked up his phone call while Justin answered his mother's call.
"Hello, Mom," Justin said.
His mother asked, "Justin... where are you?"
"I'm on my way home now, Mom. I will be there soon," Justin replied.
He still held Olivia's soft left hand firmly, and his mother asked, "Are you sure, son? Or are you still at the clubhouse?"
Justin frowned and replied, "No, Mom. I am honestly on the estate street now, approaching home."
Justin spoke in a deep, husky voice, glancing at Olivia's face with care. She immediately looked downward, wondering what he was thinking.
Olivia continued to sob, and Mrs. Juliet said, "Okay, son. Hurry home. I am still awake and waiting for you."
"Alright, Mom. I'll be home soon with Jesse. Bye, and I love you," Justin answered.
"I love you too, son. I will be expecting you home on time," Mrs. Juliet replied.
"Okay, Mom. Bye."
After ending the call, Justin put his phone back in his pocket and turned to Olivia, asking, "What happened to you? Tell me."
Justin’s voice was serious, but Olivia shook her head, unwilling to involve him in her family matters. She begged, "Please, sir... Just take me to the estate gate. That's all."
Justin sighed as he listened to Olivia's sweet voice before replying, "Alright, I will help you get to the estate gate, but you still need to tell me who slapped your pretty face, and who are you living with around here?"
Justin looked serious, meeting Olivia's gaze and becoming possessive of her.
However, Olivia gulped hard, surprised that the stranger cared about her.
She shyly stared downward after seeing Justin's determination to know who had hurt her.
Justin finally released Olivia's soft hand, feeling his muscles tense as he imagined what her soft body would feel like under his hard masculine frame.
His desire was awakening, and his mind raced with thoughts about being with her in his bed. He quickly pushed those crazy thoughts aside, not wanting to scare her.
He was sweating in the late hour and heard her voice again, "Please, sir... I need to get to the estate gate."
Olivia's soft voice stirred something deeper in his heart, making him sweat even more.
He finally replied, "Okay, I promise to help you get to the estate gate, but first, you need to tell me what happened to you."
Olivia looked up at Justin's face, wondering if she could trust him. He continued, "Look, I don't mean any harm to you, okay? You shouldn’t be afraid to share your problem with me. I'm Justin Robert, and my father owns this estate. Even though most of the houses here are individually owned and bought from us."
Olivia remained silent, staring at Justin's face. She felt her cheeks burning from his care and possessiveness, making it hard to listen to his introduction as she marveled at how handsome he looked in the late hour.
Justin finally asked, "Are you listening to me at all?"
Olivia's big brown eyes shifted upward to meet Justin's thin lips and dark, desirous eyes.
She gulped hard and replied, "I am listening. My dad owns the other house down there, but after my parents were gone, my stepmother made my life terrible. She threw me out tonight after her daughter ruined the soup I had just finished cooking. Mia made the soup bitter."
Olivia started sobbing again at the memory of how Mia had ruined the soup. Justin fell silent, realizing he had not seen Olivia around before, even though he had been keeping late nights after taking charge of his father's company when he turned 19, two years ago.
Though he was still in school and hadn't fully resumed office, he had noticed Olivia more frequently. She seemed like she came from a wealthy family, yet she was living like a maid.
"Okay, where's your home? Let me take you there. If I take you to the estate security now, they won’t be able to follow you back home at this hour, and your stepmother might not even open the gate for them. Why not come with me to my parents' house tonight? Tomorrow morning, we can bring you back to your stepmother's house and try to talk to her," Justin suggested.
Olivia shakily replied, "No, sir..."
She glanced away from him, backing up slightly as though she wanted to escape, not knowing his true intentions.
Olivia looked at the estate gate that was still far ahead and saw Justin take out his phone again. It was his mother calling once more.
He picked up and quickly replied, "I'm almost at the gate, Mom."
Mrs. Juliet asked, "Justin, it's already after 11 PM. Where exactly are you?"
"Mom, I will be home soon. Hang up the call, please," Justin said.
He turned to Olivia again, not wanting to leave her behind on the road after seeing how hurt she looked.
He knew there were no surveillance cameras around that would record any bad incidents involving her, and the security personnel could take advantage of her innocence since it was late.
"You can trust me. I won't hurt you," he assured her.
Olivia looked at Justin silently, unsure if she could trust him.
After much hesitation, she finally accepted his outstretched hand.
Justin walked her to his car, and they both got into the backseat while Jesse sighed in the driver's seat, wondering how Mrs. Juliet would react upon seeing the beautiful young lady Justin brought home.
Jesse noticed Olivia appeared hurt and brutally beaten, her reddened face visible in the rearview mirror.
The car's interior light flicked on, causing Jesse to tighten his grip on the steering wheel, concerned about who had harmed Olivia.
Justin helped Olivia sit beside him properly and buckled her seatbelt.
Her fruity scent filled his nostrils as he leaned closer to her; he felt more aroused than tempted, but he suppressed his feelings, not wanting to frighten her.
"Start the car." Justin ordered Jesse,
"Alright, boss," Jesse replied.
Justin didn't bother with his seatbelt since they were almost home. He sat in silence as Jesse started the engine and drove toward the mansion.
Olivia was surprised to hear Jesse refer to Justin as 'boss.'
She gulped hard and tried not to look at Justin, feeling his gaze on her as the car approached a huge black gate.
Olivia had heard that the Emerson estate belonged to a Mr. Robert Emerson, but she didn’t really know who he was, only that her parents often discussed him.
She didn't know if she had ever seen him, but she had heard that his mansion was more heavily guarded than any other in the estate and was the most luxurious villa in the area.
Jesse parked in front of the gate and honked the horn. A security guard approached to open the gate.
The guard looked at Justin's car closely to confirm who was inside and, upon recognizing his young boss with a pretty young lady, he walked back to unlock the electric gate for Jesse to drive in.
