Alexis Another day, another goddamn rejection. I try not to let it get to me, but I can't help the tears that pool in my eyes. There's only so many a person can take before it starts to affect their self-esteem. What is it about me that won't allow a company to hire me? When a tear drops from my eye, I swipe it away angrily. I've been trying so hard to make this work and keep positive about it taking me a bit longer than anyone else to find a job. Now I'm starting to wonder if I'm undesirable. Glancing up, I look around and realize exactly where I'm sitting—in the parking lot of the hardware store, on my morning break, waiting to go back in and finish the rest of this shitty shift. I don't think I've ever felt so down. I feel as if I don't have a choice about what my future will be. L
