Dandy Spenser rolled her chair up to the window. She hated the chair, hated it, but she’d fallen two days ago while out with her brother, and her wrist still hurt. Which meant the crutches were out, at least until next week.
“‘You have to comply with your doctor’s orders, Dandy. I can’t believe Steven was so irresponsible as to take you to the fair! Ridiculous! And then he had to carry you back to the car?’” she muttered, mocking her mom. She reached, couldn’t quite make it, backed up, reassessed her position in front of the window and lined up the chair again. There.
