Chapter 5It was fully dark by the time they reached the park, take-out bags in hand. A man walking his dog gave Shadow a wary look, telling his dog to heel as they made a wide circle around the teens, and soon left the park. Other than that, they seemed to have the place to themselves.
They sat at the table Guy had used his first time there, eating silently while keeping an eye on the occasional person who appeared on the sidewalk next to the park. None of them seemed to notice the teens and animals, or if they did, they must have thought it wiser to ignore them.
When everyone was finished, and Shadow and Ghost had been fed, Guy helped Tone clear up their debris and take it to the trashcan by the playground. Impulsively, Guy sat on one of the swings meant for bigger kids, pumping his leg
