Ivan and Zander did all they can just to protect the humans in that part of Lindar. When they saw Zari lead the monster away from them, it was easier for them to fight the newborn vampires and the demons.
But since the demons kept on coming like a swarm of zombies, Zander fought them head on. He ended up losing all her energy just to vanquish all the demons. At the end of the night, the other newborns retreated and the village was saved with minimal casualties.
Kareem and Zafira helped the survivors as they take refuge in the old St. Catherine church. While Zafira use her magic heal those who were injured, Zander fell into a deep sleep to regain all his drained energy. Ivan was the one who stepped up and supervised everything.
