“Nena!”
Nena blinked and the world changed back. Jack’s face, contorted with concern, loomed above her. She looked around and saw she lay on her back in the rear of the car. Jack was hunkered down between the seats and Peter stood in the doorway.
Nena reached out to him. “Peter! You are unharmed!”
Jack arched an eyebrow. “‘Unharmed?’ Nena, did you hit your head and didn’t tell us about it?”
Nena blinked at him. “Nena?” She looked down at herself and furrowed her brow. “I’m. . .I’m not Nada?”
Peter’s eyes flickered to Jack and narrowed. “Did you tell her that name?”
He shook his head. “No.” He returned his attention to Nena. “What’s the last thing you remember?”
